I have just been reading some reports and it has been stated that the Delph story was actually a fabricated event by the press according to some in the midlands area. Apparently the release clause for Delph was only available for activation should villa have been relegated.

I have a funny feeling we are trying to be made a laughing stock by the mainstream papers

Well it's working perfectly..combined with our Pogba/ KDB/ Sterling non events....shit

Agreed.

But if it means going for someone like Shelvey now I would rather have Delph.

That goes without saying, but dropping in the name of an even shitter player than the shit player we were linked with doesn't mean we should be in for either. I'd rather bring kids from the academy in than buy shit. We should only be moving for quality players now IMO.

You should get over to the agenda thread with that one.

Well, first of all, glad the thread is still here - been out for the day & just caught up on about 80 pages since Ric first suggested things werent going smoothly in his post mid-afternoon.

If this had happened after we'd got a couple of our suggested 'big' targets, I'm sure the reaction would be a lot more subdued. But it hasnt.
If we end up getting our 'big 3' then fair enough, but if not then it will add to the disappointment.
As Love City suggested earlier, it is about the perception rather than the player himself. If it was all about England place, playing time etc, then fair enough, but why leave it till hours before to decide that? The issue that matters will be if it adds to putting off other players we might want.
To say, 'oh it doesnt matter, the obvs werent the right players for us' is a bit of a cop out tbh - other players who have given us the swerve - Rooney, Terry, even van persie - would all have been assets if we'd got them.

Anyway, wonder if this will affect the position and next actions of city and liverpool re Sterling...

well if true we will never know because city don't say a dickie bird about anything

IMO This thread is an embarrassing reflection of how shallow the new/modern CITY fans are.

I shudder to think what people would think of the quality of CITY fans as proper supporters if they were to base their view on what is posted by some of the fans on here.

Are these real views? Or is this what you get in this modern internet driven era where people can mouth of in a macho fashion from behind a keyboard.
