I don't blame him at all, why should he go somewhere else for less money, we were happy to offer him the contract in the beginning.
It's just a job to a lot of players, nothing more
I agree, there is a really strange perception about players,it is a job and they have a contract that guarntess (sp) them a certain amount of money and are entitled to see that contract out

Yea,Villa fans know only too well what he's about I suppose, the love of the game and playing has gone then to some, and when it seeps through to supporters, like you are implying to me,then the game will be over sooner than you think

There is another side to it when it comes to a footballer.

That is to play... Any footballer should want to play. There's not even a reserve league any more.

Delph literally will be just training for an entire season.

I'd take a pay cut (considering how much they get paid) to go and play first team football in the Prem somewhere.

Although to be fair, i'd enjoy getting £80,000 pw to train too :-)

Might earn more in the long run too by getting himself back in the England team rather than fading away.

Fabian Delph has rejected a move to Stoke and believes he can get games at Manchester City this season. [@TelegraphDucker]

Sounds to me like someone who isn't interested in regular game time (or being involved in the world cup). Knows City is his last top club. Enjoys the perks of it (and wages). And is not willing to let it go easily. Even if it means getting almost no game time.

I respect Joe Hart's stance more. He knew he wasn't wanted or needed. And took a big step down in his career, just to play. Couldn't have been easy after so many years at the "top".

I'm going to give him the benefit here, when fit he has proved his worth and ability - unfortunately those moments have been far too rare.Delph is a scrapper though,he doesnt want to give up on his dream, and i wont criticise him for that.

I think it is all down to Money sadly. I would be embarrassed to do all the City TV stuff if I were him - he is not going to win a league for you nor a European cup - he should be know where near our squad.

Or he thinks he is good enough for City has a contract and is going to give it a go
