Looked the part again, has the bravery, energy, pace and mobility kolarov doesn't.And the myth he can't defend is exactly that.

This fella should be top of the list.
How's his creativity? Workrate?
Workrate is phenomenal. Creativity If by that you are wondering if he would get tackled on every dribble attempt like Kolarov, you can erase those fears. He used to play wide-mid, and so he is very comfortable on the ball and has the pace and skill to get by his man.

Just wondering does he have a lot of tricks to his repetoire? They're not necessary but they often make for fun watching.

On the occasion i witnessed he lost the ball, after making an excellent break from defence,he fought hard to succesfully win it back,he's certainly not afraid of a bit of graft and looks very enthusiastic.
I was also impressed with his reading of the game, often covering other defenders when the need arose.

Without going overboard,he looks to have that something extra.

Em not really. He is not Marcelo skillful if that is what you mean. He is more like the Chelsea's RB, Bosingwa. His skill is predicated on his speed. But he has better touches than what you see from most LBs in the PL. His ability on quick give and go passes is topnotch too.

I didn't see enough of the game to make an assesment of him last night but the commentator suggested he had played very well.
Did anyone watch the whole game who can support or dispute that comment?

Cheers.

There is no need to. He has played very good the whole Europa league campaign and he deserves to play in the champions league aswell as Premier league/another very competive league.

I hope we get him..even if Kolarov is playing well now. 2 good LB :s wouldn't hurt us anyways. There would never be a problem if either one got injured. There would be always a quality LB.

Chelsea in for him now apparently, we always seem to share the same transfer targets as them (Van Der Wiel, Lukaku, etc.).

I really dont believe Chelsea are going for Coentrao. LB is not a position Chelsea needs to strenghten right now.

They need Rb much more so i can see them going for Wiel but not Coentrao.

They probably sh1t themselves when Freddie Sears tore Ashley Cole a new one last week......

We can't let Chelski get this fella,he is superb.Makes Kolarov look like Charvet.

Its conceiveable that Kolarov could stay should we get Coentrao. Kolarov played a few times at left mid this season and either one of them could play left back or left mid.

We could even stick both of them on the left and one fills in whilst the other gets forward chopping and changing for 90 mins if need be, fighting on 4 trophy fronts next season after all.
