Fabregas, a chance too good to ignore

Like water, footballers eventually find their level. the level at Barcelona probably a little high for fabregas. If we are happy with paying a lot of cash for someone not good enough for Barca, as we did with Robinho and madrid so be it.

We would have too many midgets who cannot play a role of a proper #10/playmaker due to a lack of physicality. I would prefer a more physically and technically gifted playermaker than Cesc.

I cant feckin stand Cesc, and i fail to see what he actually does on a football pitch other than walk round with a BIG HEAD the guy is a complete tosser

Goodness me - Cesc led the line in the Euros for Spain ahead of Torres and LLorente. He is a champion player and played a key role in Spain winning the title. If we are ever interested in him I would be 100% behind that decision.

Anyone who wouldn't be behind it is a lunatic

I some time wonder where people get there views on footballers from to hate someone and not rate someone are completely different u can hate fabregas cos he's a tosser on the field as 99% of truly world class footballers need to be to have that desire to win at all costs. But if your really saying u can't see what he offers on the pitch u seriously need to have a word with u self or actually watch him play
Alot of fans think like that, he's a cvnt and I hate him, so they look for any weakness to use against that player to justify their hate. Surprised that someone who supports a team in England dont rate cesc.....fair enough if he hasnt played here. But for someone to claim to be a football fan in this country and not see what he does....I really question their football knowledge

You underestimate our owner, very foolish!

We seem to be taking FFP very seriously, so doesn't that rule this out? I know we'd make any fee back over time, but does FFP take this into account?
Yes, £100m with a 5 year contract would be amortised at £20m per year (plus his salary). Real reckon they made the £80m fee back in shirt sales and sponsorship inside 2 years.

I'm only about a third of the way through, but I'm currently reading Soriano's book, which I bought off Amazon last week. In the bit I'm up to now, he talks about the way he and his colleagues raised Barca's income quite dramatically after they arrived at the club in 2003. One thing they did was go straight out and buy Ronaldinho, a superstar player who at a stroke made the club much more marketable internationally.

Just saying, like.

Spot on!

Just to give you an idea of what this man can do, over a 5 year period at Barcelona he increased finances from 123m Euro turnover and a 73m Euro loss to 308m Euro turnover and an 88m Euro profit.

"This is what it's like to be City"........."this is what it's like to be small".............

Was ronaldinho really a superstar when they signed him? He was obviously highly rated but came from the french league at the end of the day.

The numbers for Soriano's barca turnaround are brilliant but I can't help but feel it might have been a lot down to the right place, right time sort of thing. That's just a gut feeling by the way, I don't know the ins and outs of it but I'd be interested in the opinions of those that do

Yea I remember them being gazumped for £25 million or whatever it was, wasn't sure he was quite a superstar but it was after the 2002 world cup I suppose and he was a hit then.

I'd still like to know more about how Soriano changed those figures so dramatically

Buy his autobiography perhaps? (I've not read it but I am sure he may divulge a bit in there)
