Facebook

I guess im just a facebook geek ,cos i love it :)

I have no issues with it myself
If people want to use it (and I don't) then it's fine. The beauty of living in a democracy
If people (like Liam) hate it, then simply don't visit it
It's a bit like people whinging about a T.V. programme - just switch it off!!!

I don't get why people get arsey about FB.

Just don't sign up for it and you'll never need worry about it ever again.

It's like me putting my face in the ashtray and then moaning because I have ash on my face. It's entirely avoidable and therefore not a legitimate thing to moan about.

I agree. If it keeps all the sad geeks out of my way when I go for a pint, I'm all for it.

Its useful for catching up with old mates, seeing which ones have ended up in prison for mugging old ladies, impregnating random birds, and just generally finding out that their life has gone down the shitter since they left school. That always cheers me up. Oh, and also for stalking those old fancies you used to have. Relationship status? Single? Now lives in Prestwich? Time to get the van ready...

Nothing wrong with facebook, the problem is idiots who think its a way of life, rather than a social networking website.

I dont give a shit what you've had for your tea, I dont care if your missus wont give you access to the kids, and im not arsed that your on a bus.

My auntie and uncle literally talk to each other on it when they live in the same house, one upstairs, the other downstairs, commenting on each others status having a full blown conversation.

Some people use it as a desperate call for attention, each to their own.

In terms of keeping in touch with friends and family, storing photos etc, its pretty good.

I think that’s a little simplistic to be honest.

I used to be a member but opted out of it because I simply wasn’t enjoying it anymore. The majority of my friends however do use it and conduct a large proportion of their interaction through it. Instead of picking up the phone to text or call as they would have done previously it now seems to be accepted that ‘facebooking it’ covers all bases regardless of who is a member and who isn’t.

Be it photo’s, sharing important news, gatherings etc I’m often told ‘oh it’s up on facebook’

I know that as a consequence of not being a member I’ve missed out on things that in the past I wouldn’t have but I accept that was my choice and I have to deal with it, so in that sense I agree moaning about it is pointless. I can however say with certainty that it impacts on my life whether I want it to or not.

I live in Zürich, my children live in the UK, my friends are scattered around the 4 corners of the globe. Facebook gives us an informal way of keeping in touch that has enhanced our lives enormously.
