Family Cars

the extended This! household requires an extended motor...

Just about to get another VW caravelle having had one for four years and absolutely fab.

seven proper seats (two rows of two pilot seats then a 3 seat bench in the back)

4 bike rack, roofbars for a box and tow bar for a trailer. We took the 4 This! nippers and a spare child for good measure, six bikes, four tents, bbq, sports kit and everything else for two weeks away to france in the summer and it was like driving round the corner to the shops...

All the seats swivel, slide and shuffle to make the boot space bigger/smaller. There's loads of storage stuff inside, blinds on the windows, wireless headphones for the rear dvdplayer (not getting on the replacement as they all have ipads and stuff now...)

It drives like a car, has a sports box and is quick! Sensors and rear cameras make it easier to park than any of the others I've had (golf, TT then VW Touareg were the predecessors)

They are off the radar for lots of people as they are not sold through the VW car dealers - get yourself to VW vancentre!

New one arrives in a couple of weeks!

We have a Mazda 6 which is huge. Great engine as well, 2.2 turbo diesel and still nearly 60 to the gallon. Our kid works for soda and he turned up with the Octavia and I was very impressed. Huge amount of room in the back.
I had a Mazda 6 just returned it to Lease company.
Loved it and miss it as it had great power for a 2.2D.
However, i have replaced it with a top of the range Kia Sportage which has all the benefits..

Im looking at buying a new car and wondering on peoples experiences with family cars (and i dont mean sexual). Currently drive a golf but with 2 kids and packing up of the entire house just to go to the shops im after getting something bigger. Been looking at a few SUV's like a Mazda CX 5 which looks really nice but after peoples opinions from those who drive them. Budget i think upto 25 - 30k.

Cheers

If you mean "new" as in replacement rather than "new" as in brand new - take a look at the Merc M class. You can get a lot of car for your £30k.
