Well I never knew he was from Westhoughton. You sure he was a blue, not a trotter?

There's even a pub in Westhoughton named after him.

That's the end of the thread for me. He was a legend already in my eyes, Quint makes Jaws the classic it is.

If he's a blue, he reaches god-like status.

Farewell and adeiu to you fair Spanish Ladies, farewell and adieu, fair ladies of Spain,
For we've received order for to sail back to Boston,
And never shall we see your fair ladies again.

That's a 20 footer, no 25!

Marty Crain, Fraisers dad, born an bred in Manchester

I'd like to think he's a Blue but... there was an interview with him during the programme's peak when he said that he used to sell nuts as a boy at Old Trafford and that's where he developed his love of 'soccer'. Don't think he's a Blue unfortunately.

Meant to add:

I like the fact that when supposed Mancunian Daphne was visited by her family. One of her brothers was supposed to be a 'soccer' fan who supported a team called United. he was basically a football hooligan and spoke with a strange cockney/southern accent. Perhaps their casting guys/voice coaches made a mistake or perhaps they got it right!

Ha ha. My favourite film of all time, Jaws. Robert Shaw as Quint, the psychotic shark hunter, is absolutely incredible.
He was also brilliant as Red Grant in 'From Russia With Love'. Excellent actor.

So glad to hear was a Blue.
