I have no issue with people having an opinion if they are able to back it up with solid evidence, but I'm fucking fed up with seeing so-called City fan accounts on social media slagging our players off for for fuck all. It's weird, and cunty and I'm pretty sure some of them only do it for engagement which is why I rarely click on them, let alone interact.

2 points here..

Social media

Fan accounts

Both ridiculous :)

If you cannot get your fill of Manchester City related content by watching the games, reading the negative press and visiting bluemoon 37 times a day to read that Doku is either the greatest winger since Garrincha or the worst belgian export since Jean-Claude Van Damme then I don't know what to tell you other than you have a problem.

You've hit the nail on the head. It's engagement.

Get a Twitter blue tick, say daft shit for attention, get required attention = Get paid.

Get engagements get the money eventually - spouting nonsense gets activity.

I would be amazed if some are not run by the same person spouting shite for multiple clubs or even AI.

Was pissed me off yesterday were multiple journos showing pictures on the stadium in Philly 30 mins before kickoff.

Tee it up and watch the engagement of ‘just like the Etihad’ or similar responses.

That would have been organised before the journos even left for the states.

Do yourself a favour and get off Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, the lot, rots your brain.

Got rid of all of it a couple years ago and never looked back.

All I do is look at the news and come on here when I’m so bored that I need to go on my phone.
I’m not overly arsed anymore. I don’t watch or listen to much these days - but I find it mental that after 10 years of success we still have virtually zero presence in any of the mainstream media of all formats.

i must admit that i pretty much hate all player criticism

i'm not a happy clapper by any means but i bring my own negativity and would prefer some positivity when online.

in that respect bluemoon can be as guilty.

generally social media is populated by plastic fans, i mean do the maths how many fans can fit in any one stadium? it's a fraction of the number of online fans clubs have

grrr. fuck it i'm going to go to bed mumbling to myself now

I hope you watch my YouTube channel on covered bridges? ;)

These dickheads are painful to read at times, I just tend to call them a ****, fanny, whatever fits. Called one a tit today (great insult imo, needs a bit of a comeback).

Then I move on with my day, fuck em.

In the 1990s with the advent of 24 hour media, football phone-ins became popular. Man Utd fans in particular would love to impersonate Bert and caricature City as a massive club. Then the internet came into being, and anonymity has led to an explosion of such behaviour with rival fans, operating under the cover of being City fans, criticising City players, Pep etc all with the aim of spreading general despondency. Hence every new user is welcomed as Rag, and quite likely they are.

Me neither. We have lots of presence if you're looking for negative stories . Nearly all of it clickbait to hook the cartel club fan base .

I bet half of them post on here.

If you want negativity go on the player performance threads after 1 pre season game. (not even mentioning match day thread!) Absolutely rammed with we are doomed posters.

I agree so much with this.

Its an industry. I don’t think a lot are real fans tbh.

The worst is YouTube. I don’t watch any now but yesterday I happened upon this youtube video of a “fan” who just spent the whole time slagging off players..I couldn’t watch it
No offence and this is a serious question, why click on it in the first place?

Can you give an example please?

Wandering what 'solid evidence" is required too.
