Sad news. I'm sure he's looking down on the Etihad and it's team with pride.
Respect Newt2RIP Oggy. I was one of those providing CPR. So sad he passed away. Condolences to family and friends. A number of fans from both teams and passers by helping.
I'm in 109 I shall walk past after the match.....RIP Oggy ladI saw this terrible news on a City Facebook page and was able to pass on details about Paul's match friends and routines. I sat next to Paul for a number of years in 106 before I moved abroad 3 years ago, Paul always brought a flask of coffee and I always brought some biscuits, and sitting alongside him was one of the highlights of matches, win, draw or (not so often these days) lose. The rest of our little matchday group had sat behind him at City games since Maine Road and said goodbye to him at the end of the game as usual with not a hint of anything being wrong. It can't be often that the worlds of City, cricket and punk rock, especially the Clash, come together but they did with Paul. He was a great guy, always positive, always cheerful, try and find a photo of him without a smile on his face! He had many, many friends. A lifelong Blue, a cricketer for Sale Moor CC and an enthusiastic attendee of countless gigs, Paul was a well known regular at Strummercamp, the annual Manchester celebration of all things Clash and Joe Strummer. His funeral service is being streamed live such is the sadness felt not just locally but by friends around the UK and into Europe. At tomorrows match against Fulham a bouquet of blue and white flowers will be fastened to his seat with a blue ribbon. Stand 106 Row M - stop and pay your respects if you see it, have a word with his mates, they'll be happy you did. To all his family and his multitude of friends deepest condolences. Love from Bucharest. Hey Oggy...go easy...step lightly...stay free.
