What the stats dont show is who else was in the line up, which will impact on stats.

I my perception is that when we win most people think they are all great and when we drop the odd point every 3 months the same people are climbing over themselves demanding a proper number 9 because they’re all useless and couldn’t finish their dinners..

Impressive effort, but for it to make any sense you really need to weight by the number of games.

I think Jesus is often underrated, but here his non-penalty goals is skewed massively by scoring 3 goals in 79 CL minutes this season.

His "combined" average has him scoring at better than a goal a game over the last two seasons, all because he scored a few late goals as a sub in this year's CL.

Fair enough, I know its a bit old fashioned but I prefer to see if a players any good by watching them play rather than studying loads of multi coloured charts & reading loads of stats :)

How much attention do our coaching team pay to stats? Anyone know?
The stats tell me that Sterling was poor last season and that Foden is improving all the time, but my eyes told me that anyway.

Very good question, I’m also interested if anyone has more details than they have a large team of data analysts who review our players positioning and tactics, opposition players, player fitness and set piece analysis.

Pep has said he is big on stats and the numbers so I suspect they have significant reliance / input from this.
I believe Planchart is one of the main men for data analytics, awesome name for data analyst btw!
