i not disputing the guy, but i dont understand where hes coming from here. i drank in that pub long before city even contemplated moving to eastlands and it was dead back then. yeah if city werent there it would probably shut, but surely 1200 people coming in every other saturday for 9 months must make up for a loss of so little trade during the week. he also rents the chippy bit out. most pubs round there would kill for that much business.
You drank in that pub before City moved there, jesus what ever possesed you to do such a thing!
went to college with a lad from beswick. think it used to called suzy q's or something back then, but yeah, it was still a dump. all the pool tables had cat piss stains on them. lol.
It's always been Mary D's, christ it was called Mary D's when my Uncle had his 40th in the upstairs nearly 23 years ago. Suzy q's was a pool/snooker hall in town, if its the one im thinking of its now called the Rainbow snooker club on whitworth street.
