Fans missing 20/30 minutes of the match

Absolute disgrace getting in last night got there about half 7 and missed 20 minutes of the game. Was told the the electronic thing wasn't working and now there ripping the tabs up so it should start moving quicker. Got to the front and was told too put my ticket in that thing (despite being told it wasn't working) as expected it didnt work so i asked why they couldnt just rip the tab off and let me in, she said tunr the ticket the other way round (which obviously not the problem) so i did and still not working so i said just fucking rip the tab of and let me in. Eventually she did but it took me a minute to get in. On the coach back a few said this was happening with them, on the basis it was taking people a minute to get in no wonder it was such chaos outside. This was block M which matched what was on my ticket.

Felt sorry for the kids involved in that crush outside, did my best along with other blues to let them through.

In the ground where I was there were stewards basically on every row, maybe they should try getting some more to their own fans to prevent them throwing fireworks at us.

Motorway had fcuk all to do with congestion at turnstile M - Cock of a steward and twat of a copper backing him up.

We had four coaches there last night all arrived at 7:15 - Some didn't get in until gone 8

Bredbury coach 1?
i was on coach 4, got there about 7.15. was in by 7.30. the traffic on the way back was a joke, didnt help with the driver taking us for a tour of liverpool. we was alongside the city players coach at 1 point

Similar to you getting there but coming back we were fine. Back at the pub for 11.15ish

Given that one of the criticisms of the police in the Taylor Report centred on not delaying the kick-off at Hillsborough due to the build-up of fans outside waiting to get in, I find it astonishing that with the amount of fans still outside at kick-off time last night the start of the match wasn't delayed. The fact that the match was live on TV shouldn't even be a consideration. Even more astonishing is that this is Liverpool FC we're talking about, with the added irony being that the Hillsborough memorial sits just yards from those away turnstiles where all the chaos ensued last night.

Bearing this in mind, some of the stories I'm reading on here about the comments from various stewards and police directed at our fans are absolutely sickening.

I went to every single away game when we were in the second division and because of the large numbers we took to most grounds, I can remember at least half a dozen of our matches having the kick-off time put back. The fact that they can have the presence of mind to make such a decision at third tier clubs that are a fraction of the size of Liverpool, makes what happened last night even more shocking. I'm not saying it's all Liverpool's fault of course - the police are more to blame for not monitoring the situation properly.

Thats my point, we wern`t live on SKY in those days. So therefore safety before profit.

Oh, I totally agree with what you're saying. I just find it impossible to comprehend in these post-Hillsborough days how TV scheduling can take precedence over safety of supporters. If that had a bearing on last night's decision not to delay the kick-off then it's an utter disgrace and needs looking into.
That Road has been the friggin same since late 70's in regards treatin folk like teeny boppers in cue for school dindins when apple crumble n' custard were on menu and if anyone thinks last nite were bad i'dd suggest Liverpool Football Club n' their overzealous dibble and stewards take heed from last nites fuck ups ahead of saturdays 12.45 clash with United n' another 6K if they are to avoid ano.........

If that link works it should show you the scene outside approx 15 mins into the game. (i was trying out a new camera and working out how best to upload and show stuff via my ipad is a bit of a mission !

I got to M at 7:35pm due to the crash, was walking past N/O/P with a bagload of fans outside so I started to think that something was amiss. Got to M, stood there for a good 15 minutes and didn't move.

The female copper on the horse did indeed say 'It's all your fault for coming last minute'. Empathy fuck all. I'd say she probably has her pissflaps wired shut with the attitude we were given but she was talking out of them, so crosses off that possibility.

We were lined up against the wall, then a couple of burly lads came along and started pushing. A steward who looked like Ricky Tomlinson was stood about a 3 person depth from the far right turnstile with nowhere to go as fans were coming in from all angles. I got to the ticket machine and took about 5 scans to work, with some waster behind the window lighting up a pipe asking me what the answer to 6 down was on his puzzler.

Got in just gone 8pm. My seat was taken when I got across the row so just stood anywhere.

I've been twice and it was bad on the 3-0 defeat last season, but that was the worst organisation I have seen at a football match. Only slightly less worse for congestion than Juventus when the Italians opened one metal gate about 3 foot wide for 1200 fans to escape the ground through. At least the organisation was there getting us in though!
