Fans Nervous Support

I'm finished fretting.
I trust the players and coaches to do their job well.
They have plenty of incentive to do so.

It's the time of year when fans are sitting more on the edge of their seat, than any other. 0-0 after 10 minutes increases the tension, and if it still 0-0 at half time, with news filtering through from elsewhere, you have written off any chance of success.

So, what time do you think that support turns into nervous tension at City (assuming no more than a goal in it), will it filter through to the players?
I suppose I am thinking back to Liverpool v Spurs last week, when there was a carnival atmosphere.....but will there next home game be more tense now they are top?

How is it different for you as the run in gathers pace?

The nervousness comes with the territory - Dippers' fans know they are gonna win (until they lose!), MANUre fans think they are entitled to win and the ref 'will see it right', whilst we would like to see a few goals more for us. When the first goal doesn't come by the end of the first ten mins, Armageddon kicks in!!

In my view, us lot need to make a right din, all through the match and get behind the team. it's not going to be a walk in the park today as Southampton will have plenty of the ball, so....twelfth man required from here in now till the end of the season, if we can't do that, it's a bit of a sorry state of affairs as I for one believe the players will react to 'OUR' desire to gain maximum points from every game to finish top of the Premiership.

I was surprisingly calm going into that United game, probably because I still felt the odds were against us. The nerves truly kicked in after that game. I was a wreck for the Newcastle game.

One thing that run-in has taught me though is that anything is possible and it's foolish to overreact to individual results. Some on here wrote us off after drawing at Arsenal last week (!), but we chased down an 8 point deficit with 6 games to go against a Ferguson side. We're in a far better position this time. I still don't think Liverpool will win their next six games.

I'd started to really believe for that derby game, but was filled with fear that they'd snatch it away. Newcastle was probably the worst, though, for nerves. That one reminded me of the big relegation and promotion do-or-dies that we were used to. QPR was sort of different. Wasn't nervous going into it, or even at 2-1 down. But as that clock marched on from 60 to 90 minutes it was just a growing sickening feeling, rather than tension, which rose to a panic and then a sort of dreadful resignation on about 87 or 88 minutes. Hard to explain really.
I never felt any nerves at Newcastle, I just thought we'd do it, and we did in a style that I expected. I'm feeling the same about the next 8 games, I just feel our strength will do it, as I did in 2012.

I could do without that last minutes drama though.

I was nervous to an extent before the Newcastle game- but by half time I didn't know where a goal was coming from. One of the best games I have been to that- like pretty much everyone there, I thought we had done it (and we had).

QPR I was quite relaxed from memory going into it- it was complete excitement, actually, for what we might achieve. I started panicking on the m56, though- there was an accident and cars were just turning round on the motorway and going the wrong way up the entrance to the motorway. I thought we weren't going to make it- then we turned round and drove the wrong way down the motorway too- that completely flustered me for the game!!

I usually just post the last line but today this is what we all need to sing (IMHO)

~City - Manchester City
We are the lads who are playing to win
City - the Boys in Blue will never give in
Football is the game that we all live for
Saturday is the day we play the game
Everybody has to pull together
And together we will stand
Even if we're playing down at Maine Road
Or if we play a million miles away
There will always be our loyal fans behind us
To cheer us on our way
City - Manchester City
We are the lads who are playing to win
City - the Boys in Blue will never give in
Blue and white we play together
We will carry on forever more
Maybe in another generation
When other lads have come to take our place
They'll carry on the glory of the City
Keeping City in the place
City - Manchester City
We are the lads who are playing to win
City - the Boys in Blue will never give in
City - the Boys in Blue will never give in
City - the Boys in Blue will never give in~

and, we fight to the end!!

Next Sunday will be even more nervy

All the pressure is on Liverpool next weekend IMO.

100% ,if the dippers lose , its definitely our title , if we lose , we have 6 more games , and are still in with a chance , scouser are giving it the big 'un , but in reality they are bricking it.

Yep, Hart and Nasri tried to get everybody going today but most remained silent.

Hence the hysterical reaction to one off side goal in a 4-1 win. Twats.

That would be most excellent.

Id love Demichelis to handball it in infront of the Kop, a controversial 1-0 win for City.
