I sorted my tickets for Sporting Lisbon and RBNY through the New York City branch of the OSC - I'm bringing a couple of friends, and we're in Row 7 of the OSC section(s) for both games - and I'm hoping to have my flights and hotels sorted soon. Preferably this week; fuck knows how many Blues/Spuds/Sporting fans from around the country are coming out, so I want to get everything settled sooner rather than later.

I'm wondering, though - where is everybody staying? Are there one or two particular hotels where City fans coming into town will be congregating, or is everybody going to be a bit spread out? I think it'll probably make the most sense to fly into Newark, and I know that's very near Harrison, but I know there's also the option of staying in NYC itself and going to and from the ground via the Port Authority trains.

Anyway, if any of you lot already have your hotels sorted, or if you have any (serious) suggestions, let me know!

dont stay in harrison theres fuck all there, stay in manhattan its only about 4 or 5 stops on the train to harrison plus the mad hatter are laying on coaches or at least they are going down together on the PATH..not sure what you yanks are doing, but the city fans that are coming over are mostly in different hotels, except for them that have booked with thomas cook, i think most of them are in just two different hotels

Yeah, I heard about the Mad Hatter hiring something like 10 coaches to take fans down to Harrison, but I guess we'll learn more about that the closer we get to the days of the games.

I would think a lot of Blues in that tri-state area will just make a day trip of it, but it'd be nice to see where the traveling support - from the UK and from the rest of North America - will be staying. If anything, it might help keep us from being holed up in a hotel full of Spuds fans!

Are you coming, by the way, or were you just speaking from experience?

Hey all--If you usually stay under the Hilton Hotel brand, I might suggest there is a Hilton Garden Inn and Hampton Inn both located by the Empire State Bldg on 33rd st. It is a easy walk to the Mad Hatter from there. Directly across the street is another very cool Pub, name escapes me, but they claim to be Celtic supporters there, FWIW.

I shall be staying at the Doubletree on Broadway (49th st. at 7th ave.). Its a little further walk, but its a suite, and right in the middle of the city action. I walk to the Mad Hatter from there, but consider it twice as far a walk as from the Empire State Bldg.

For reference sake, and "Avenue" in NYC is about 3 blocks, and "Streets" are 1 block. The Mad Hatter Is located at 26th St and 3rd Ave. Empire State Bldg. is at 33rd St and 5th Ave.

Excellent. Tell me, the website for NY Red Bulls suggests City supporters purchase tix in Secs. 231-233? Is that where everyone shall be seated? Those seats appear on paper to be the least preferred location.

That's just for the Sporting game. For the NYRB game, we're in a corner on the other end of the ground.

Anyway, I would assume those are the sections we'll be in. The tickets I got through Jonesey at the Hatter are in Sec. 232 for Sporting, 220 for NYRB.
