p.s. we should tell Rovers: "This is our last bid. 12m. You have until 15th of Jan to reply. The offer automatically ceases if we secure the services of a different striker in the mean time." And that is it. There is no queue of clubs offering £10m+ for RSC. If we get taken on a ride by fat Sam and pay £20m then every single club in the future will attempt to rip us off in the same way. I think it is better we become known as club willing to pay a fair price (and a little bit more IF necessary) than a club with a reputation for paying way over the odds. The current financial climate means that soon we will have clubs lining up to do deal with us (this includes West Ham and Rovers) as there is simply noone else out there that will be spending big on that caliber of players.

But Mourinho wins something everywhere he goes, he's charismatic and despite rumours to the contrary his sides do play nice stuff at times.

Fat Sam on the other hand is an odious, self important idiot with a penchant for transfer "irregularities". He reduces football to pro-zone stats and percentage football and he drains all entertainment from the game, no neutral would really look forward to a game involving one of his teams. His favourite English centre forward is Kevin Davies, he once sported a moustache and his limitations were seriously found out at Newcastle. I hate this guy more than any other manager in the top flight, at least the twitcher n purple nose play nice stuff.
