Did anyone else have an Uno? I had three - superb cars - peak hatchback. At the time the only car I had that was equal was a 205 GE - total poverty spec with 954cc's and skinny tyres ( no head rests no radio too ) but that had the sublime 205 handling

A mate had one
When we were playing weekend football he said it was his turn to drive and he picked me and another lad up
As part of the interior trim, it had a piece of carpet in a metal surround stuck to the dashboard
I sat in the back and the seat covering was all one piece that slid off like a big cushion and when we joined the M60 on an uphill slip road, I told him to speed up as we were only travelling about 25mph when He was hitting the motorway and he said he was going as quick as he could. It really was terrifying
After a few weeks he decided to get rid, so he left it on the pub car park, unlocked with the keys in so it'd be nicked
Two weeks later it was still there

I have a dream motorbike, rather than car (as it happens, I don't own anything, except a bicycle!) — Moto Guzzi (about a 600 or 750 cc, not more, they get too heavy beyond that). I would truly love to own one of those, and go touring round Europe on it. Although I'm now more wary of traffic than I used to be in my carefree younger days, when you always think that you're immortal (I owned a Honda Twin, which was a small bike, but I did longish distances of several hundred kms on it across France, several times).
Otherwise, a Norton Commando 750 cc, in British racing green (naturally). I see that they've started making them again, after a long, long hiatus. Made by the Japanese, of course. But say what you like, when the Japanese copy, they do it properly, with loving care.
By the way, that Jensen above is utterly superb.

Has to be the Nissan GT-R. Absolutely love that car, would have one over anything else in the world, even if money was no object.

I had a Nissan 350 Z for 4 years but my wife ended up driving it while I went to worked in a golf. She didnt like the 350 Z but I loved driving it.

A 2 seater that I could squeeze 2 sets of golf clubs. I could get in and out of one now 8-(

I've had all sorts of cars, but the Uno with the FIRE engine was absolutely brilliant to drive. Obviously built to a budget, but it was tough as old boots. Even the Panda was good if you could live with the name and styling, regularly saw the 4x4 version at the top of mountains in Europe where Landrovers couldn't get.

Fiat, along with most other small car manufacturers have seriously lost their way, the first gen Punto was good but by then small cars had started to become heavier. Even the modern Abarth models of the 500 feels unexciting to drive. Too much grip and overly isolated from the road.

So many nice cars over the years so it's hard to pick a favourite but this is IMO one of the 3 best looking cars ever and the one I regret selling more than any other

Yes, mate, I'd a 5-door Uno SX in White / Rust. Was my first car and loved it to death even though it was as mad as a tin of frogs. The car wasn't suited to our climate and usually wouldn't start in the mornings if there'd been overnight rain and it had a habit of conking out if I drove through a puddle. Only learned years later that they'd a known problem with cracks in their distributor caps and that let in moisture to the rotor-arm. The Uno that all the local petrol heads wanted was the Turbo i.e. but the insurance premiums for those was off the scale.

Loved my Uno SX (ADZ 2941 or ADZ 2971) but very much doubt if it survived. Sold it to a couple of shady looking geezers for £440 and was not in great form when they drove away in it.

So many beautiful cars but as with most beautiful things they can cost a lot to run and become nightmares. Money no object Id struggle to choose between

Ferrari 246 Dino
Lamborghini Miura
Corvette C2 (Z06)

All of which are fantasy land prices.

Had two, the second the Turbo. Dung off a digging implement, especially with some minor tweaks, mainly as the body was made out of KitKat wrappers.

Have you tried a 595? Not sure I ever felt connected to the road, but wouldn't call it isolated. The exhaust noise was manical, nothing more fun than red lining it on a motorway slip road. Definitely not the best car I've ever had but the one that made me laugh the most

Nice motor but completely the wrong colour, I won’t buy anything red.
