Jazzy Jeff is the best scratch dj for playing live. The only one who plays tunes and scratches like that. The guy can scratch and still make people dance rather than nod their heads while pontificating.

To be fair, I think technical ability is a mute point in today's digital age. I am all for the use of technology but lets be honest here, you can show a 4 year old how to beat mix perfectly on a pair of cd decks or using software like traktor.

To be a good dj you have to have great tunes and know when to drop them regardless of which media you use to play them.
To be technically good, you have to at least play on vinyl imo.

Amen to that its a shame that vinyl is rarely used nowadays
