Favourite goal ever?

Vinnie’s goal against Leicester takes some beating.
That was one of those moments where everyone thought we were going to draw and hand the league over to Liverpool. The crowd was flat, everyone looked dejected and out of nowhere boom, from the most unlikely source and it was a cracking goal.

Must have been good, I even saw some of the miserable sods in the Colin Bell stand celebrating.

Shaun Goater from Bernabias back heel flicked pass against Gillingham away was pretty special. Similar comments apply with regards Carl Griffith finish against (Ipswich ???) at Maine Road after David Rocastle Brazilian magic on the main stand touch line. David Silva Blackpool and QPR away also fondly remembered.

Trying to think of some bangers that haven’t already been mentioned.

Sylvinho at Scunthorpe.
Jensen vs Leeds.
Tiatto’s disallowed goal at Middlesbrough.
Musampa vs Liverpool.
Distin at Villa.

Dzeko at Notts County was pretty important looking back too.

I always used to say Ian Brightwell’s at The Swamp as I was stood right behind it …. but since then I suppose Yaya’s in the Cup semi or Sergio v QPR must run it close.

Many good ones, many famous ones, many that were both good and famous. Along with the YaYa, Sane, Sergio goals already mentioned, and Michael Johnson at home v. Derby, I remember Benarbia's brilliant diving header late in a Boxing Day game at Maine Road against Aston Villa. But I'll go back a long way for us VFOCs to Joe Hayes in the third minute of the 1956 Cup Final. Trautmann to Leivers to Revie, a flick through the legs and Hayes sweeps it into the net. Don't remember it from the day itself but it's there on YouTube.

The fifth in the 5-1.

I know Hinchcliffe has gone on to be a bit of a dick with regard to his apparent attitude towards City, and there have been many great goals since. But the feeling when that header hit the net, after a fantastic cross field pass and first time cross, was truly incredible. Years and years of shit from that lot, and we absolutely took them apart on the day.

One of my favourites .......................

Neil Young - F A Cup Final against Leicester

I was on the terrace behind that goal
I was right behind the goal and still remember his left peg swinging back, and bang, it rocketed into the net. My first Wembley and still the best.

Apart from the obvious ones you've mentioned...

Aguero v Dippers in a 2-2 draw at The Etihad, Scored from a near impossible angle.

Should be talked about alot more as it's easily one of the greatest ever Premier League goals.

It was genius.
Absolutely this. If salah had scored it there’d have been a media wankfest for years.

My favourite is probably Yaya's goal in the Stoke final for several reasons. I was right behind the goal when it hit the back of the net and the significance of that goal meant it got that banner removed and all those rag songs associated with it. That goal was a catalyst for all our following success and even more important than Aguero's 93:30 goal imo.
