Not just goal, but this must be one of the greatest passages of play ever in football:
Ah yes...what a hit..couldnt happen to a nicer team.... launched John Motsons career alsoIt has to be this one.
A thunderbastard to end all thunderbastards.
Also, Ian Porterfield's in the 1973 Cup final.
I know @jimharri and @Stockport mackem will appreciate that one.
Brooking.A rag I worked with in the mid 80's told.me the tale of how he decided to leave with minutes to go at 2-0 down.
He was just about to exit Wembley and heard the roar of 2-1..... he turned and made his way back up the stairs to his seat..... he was half way there when the second roar of the equaliser went up.
Finally he made it to his seat all cheering and happy as Larry and he looked up to see Sunderland put the ball in the back of the net!
And of course, the pub quiz question was:
Sunderland won the cup in 79, Villa won it in 81. Who won it in 1980?
Oh, that's an easy one for me.
Hands down:
I prefer the 1st one :)Maradonna 2nd v England mexico 86
