What are your favourite hikes in the Lake District? Looking for some inspiration.....preferably circular with a great pub near the end ;-)

Only a short un like , but my favourite is the walk from Grange up to Castle Crag in Borrowdale .
A lovely little walk .

Old Man Coniston is a cracker. Start and finish in the village. Has some really nice pubs. You will defo have earned it as well. It's quite a tough walk but I'm not fit and managed it fine.

I know the area very well after going on holiday to Grasmere/Windermere each Easter so PM depending on where your staying.

I could have some recommendations.

One of my favourite days is drive over to Buttermere and park at the Fish Inn between the lakes. Then head for Haystacks, always worth a visit. Then double back to High Crag and along the ridge to High Stile and Red Pike. Cracking views and on a good day you can see as far as Scotland. Then its back to the pub for a well earned beer.

You want to get hold of a book my mate had when we used to go to the lakes regularly called something along the lines of (great) pub walks in the lakes. Basically it starts you in the pub carpark, takes you on a walk of varying lengths and difficulty and you end up back at the pub, even gives you an average time for the walk so you can get back for lunch or tea as well as a few pints.

My favourite walk from this book was based around the Drunken Duck, nice walk, great scenery and a cracking pint of Yates bitter at the end of it.

There's a 5mile walk that starts and end here. Ask at reception, they'll give you a map:

Quite an easy one, but for great views, get to,Scout Scar -park up at the Church of St John in Helsington. It's about five miles again, and fairly flat. There's a great pub - The Wheatsheaf at Brigsteer - close by
