FC Copenhagen (A) | Post Match Thread

Yes we should have been 2 nil up after 25 mins, but even after that, and later being a man down, we looked impotent in front of goal. So frustrating, they were there for the taking and it didn't happen

Apologies to those who've suffered already

Here's 5.31 you won't get back.

Rodri interview

I still wonder if there’s a doubt in this team that we seem to be one or two fk ups from ever winning this competition. We are the best team in Europe by a million miles but don’t seem to have that belief. Edersons lack of concentration which could have been embarrassing if that was 4 foot closer to the goal or the sending off due to bad positioning against a poor strike force.

We all love this club but I’m still not sure we will win it. I hope we do of course but it just seems to be ‘something’ every year.

10 points from 4 games, top of the group. Qualified for the next round. Job done. Still people on here will moan!
Ok I'll be the moaner. No Harland, no goal. He should have at least been brought on by 70 mins. No idea what Pep was trying to prove. Surely we are not so fearful of Liverpool that we daren't risk Erling?

Copenhagen clearly got a right bollocking from their coach after their pathetic performance last week and they played like their lives depended on it.

They worked harder than us in every position on the pitch and because they have almost no quality at all, they just made it a scrappy game.

We played like we didn’t have to win, and we didn’t, and didn’t.

Referee got both handball decisions incorrect. The first one was not on purpose, he didn’t make his body bigger, he didn’t score directly with his arms and Rodri didn’t score directly off the handball (Mahrez had another touch when he passed to Alvarez and then Alvarez passed to Rodri), therefore it cannot be disallowed!
And the penalty hit their lad above the CL logo on his shirt sleeve, therefore it cannot be a penalty.

Gomez - while he looks alright on the ball - has looked suspect defensively to me in every game he’s played. He could have just allowed their lad to get the ball there, it wasn’t guaranteed that he’d score as their team were so bloody woeful on the ball it’s as likely to have gone out for a throw-in from his shot than in the net.

But it’s a point considering it was such a disjointed and unenergetic performance, one point closer to qualifying.

Maybe pep was just doing what is best for the team and maybe pep knows better than you.

Just a truly awful decision by the officials to disallow Rodri's goal: no way did Riyad intentionally handle the ball or have his arm in an unnatural position. One of the worst VAR decisions yet.

If that goal had stood it's a different game and Gomez incident does not happen.
Unfortunately it’s no longer intentional
It’s ball to hand
What happened to clear and obvious
I had time to run a bath before the ref made his mind up
If it takes that long it’s not clear and obvious
More talking points now than pre VAR
