Just found this comment about FCUM
"If you want to see proof that FC are approaching a crisis and Andy Walsh is being seriously challenged about the running of the club, go and view the unofficial forum and look at the following threads, 'gala diner called off' (thread locked last Friday) , 'mr mystery', and 'self policing'.
The person making the serious allegations against Walsh in the gala dinner thread is very much unknown outside FC but is the person who single handedly got the idea of FC going and was on the original committee. No longer friends with Walsh. This person seems to have a lot of support from old rank and file people, Basicslly Walsh is accused of serious mismanagement of funds and letting his own unelected people into senior positions at the club. The thread got locked and the poster banned.
However in the thread mr mystery continues the theme and again there are allegations about Walsh leaning on people to get losers removed, it gets worse.
The thread about self policing covers the fact the club are struggling to get volunteers on match days, people are bringing drinks in and drinking on the terrace, due to lack of stewards objects are getting thrown on the pitch, last Friday was quite bad. Most serious from a residents angle is that last Friday they only had one traffic person on duty, they are supposed to have eight, and it's believed they breached their conditions. If the council knew any of this they could be in trouble, they even say that on the Bb.
Meltdown."
These are some of the comments the OP was talking about off the FC Fans Forum
Firstly about Andy Walsh
"Very little surprise that this -
http://fc-utd.co.uk/m_story.php?story_id=6371 - has now been abandoned, the club having hoped to sell it to businesses with only a pathetic 4 weeks' notice. This, some on here might recall, is what I strongly advised Walsh and board members against pushing back in May when they were originally dead set on staging it on June 12th when, by mid-May they still hadn't announced it or sold a single seat. Nor, for that matter, had they even taken ownership of the ground or staged any similar function to see how things might work before asking people to tip up £1000 per table.
Back in May I said it was lunacy to think of trying to rush it through. I was effectively told I didn't know what I was talking about and that there was provision in the budget for - I think - £20k from this event and they couldn't afford to miss out on it. Well, even with another 4 months they still manage to completely fuck it up. Another triumph for the Walker-Walsh-wankers axis of evil!"
"Would that be the same board which thinks it acceptable for Walsh to store £20k+ of club takings at his house over the weekend, as he evidently regularly did with match takings over many seasons past?
And would that be the same membership that deems such recklessness not even worthy of a single question at a members' meeting? Nor the fact that other employees were bullied by Walsh into taking home for storage large amounts of cash over a long period of the club's history?"
Secondly about issues at the ground
"A little throwaway titbit at one of the members meeting workshops was that at the last match we were short of stewards - the linesman had lots of stuff thrown at him so two stewards has to be pulled from their normal positions to stand behind him and protect him...and then other 'fans' started to pull on the goal netting where the steward numbers were low. If they had broken it or pulled it from a support, the ref would have had to stop the game.
All this goes in the referees report of course...."
"More than likely, there's some dickheads here now.
I clean, along with others, the terraces and the bar under the SMRE after games. The number of smuggled cans dumped is terrible. it only takes one council observer to see these twats drinking on the terrace n we lose out big time. One person thought it was dead clever to try to take the piss out of the steward who asked him to please not have cans on the terrace, I believe.
The beer is cheap as fuck and served as fast as it can be. What's the problem?"
"To add to what Chorlton has already said, to be precise we were 13 stewards down on friday.
There was one traffic marshall instead of the 'required' eight.
A worst nightmare scenario would be the council reviewing the planning agreement & reducing our capacity. Ouch
Another equally bad scenario is having to pay people to do the jobs.
The stewards on duty were trying to cover everything & at the same time making sure no-one went
on the pitch.
Yes we know it was a just few 'feral kids' but the powers that be would not see it like that."
