FC United Thread

So did anybody from BM actually get a free M40/M9 ticket and go to the FCUM game today. I seriously considered it at the start of the week,as I am very partial to a freeby and I wanted to add Broadhurst Fields to the list of grounds I have attended. Plus the wife was working this afternoon at a Residential Care Home just around the corner in New Moston,so I was going to drop her there at 2.20pm and then walk to the match.
But in the end I decided to give it a miss,as I know I would have hated listening to them singing their anti- City songs, and I just couldn't give any support to a team that plays in red shirts, and has United in their club name.
So in the end I just thought FCUM.
Should have gone and stood in with the away fans !

F.C Turncoat got 2,380 today.
Their last few home games have been around 1600 - 1700, so a rough 700 increase. The rags weren't playing so that would have seen an increase, as would a 2 game winning streak (lol) so from that it doesn't look like too many locals took the offer up, couple of hundred - 300 at the most. Plus Leamington may have brought more than they would usually take to an away game, playing at the ''iconic Broadhurst Park'' (copyright FCoUM's website) for the first time.

The Reds Could Be Going Green!

We’re pleased to announce that FC United have been shortlisted in the M&S Energy Fund Competition.

Earlier in the summer the club submitted an application to enter the competition, which if successful would enable the club to further enhance the SMRE redevelopment with energy efficient heating and lighting which in turn would provide us with cost savings.

The regional competition goes live on Monday 4th September, with the winner decided by the number of public votes received.

Winners of the regional public vote can receive up to £12,000. An additional fund of no less than £20,000 will be awarded at the discretion of a judging panel.

Voting closes in mid October with the winners announced in early November

Full details of the Energy Fund Competition can be found here:
https://www.mandsenergyfund.com

Please take some time to register your vote for the club and help us to continue to make a difference. We’ll keep supporters regularly updated with how our votes are going.

We’re also looking for a couple of volunteers to help with an in-store promotion in support of our project scheduled for Saturday 23rd September in an M&S store (location to be confirmed, but likely to be Manchester City Centre). If you can help, please contact Pete Cranmer petercranmer@fc-utd.co.uk
