FC United Thread

i (with about 100,000 others ) was on the anti austerity march in town on sunday . FC hypocrites had a banner on the corner of oxford rd/ palace theatre ( the "we are all immigrants " one ) . sunday was not a day for football rivalries as everyone on the march were sisters/ brothers in arms .i just smiled at them and carried on . however ...... there is something a bit "not right " about that lot - this "holier than thou " bullshit is now getting extremely boring . they have basically been give several serious legs up the non league ladder that no other non league club has ever had - as someone who has followed non league football for over 30 years i can assure you they are held in utter contempt by the vast majority of fans (especially those in the greater manchester area ) - unfortunately the national / local media love them and the "love in " is probably here to stay .

How much does this club charge for tickets? I've never been arsed to listen to their results or what league they're in, from what I've gathered in the past they have been wank with money. It's all well and good doing a breakaway club but if you're going up the leagues it's inevitable they're going to be doing bigger business, I bet they didn't think of that in the early days!

They're cunts. Can't even bring myself to give them the attention to call them so and explain why everything about that club is so wrong when I come across a sympathiser.

The way the likes of David Conn has jumped on them as a shining beacon of progressive values in the hideous capitalist world of modern football is the most depressing aspect of this whole episode. Like virtually all organisations that like to trumpet their own virtue there's a deep seated hypocrisy at the heart of what they are doing. FCUM are simply a conduit for angry Rags who can't follow Utd around the country like its the early 90s anymore. If they'd genuinely been committed to developing a fan owned club for the people of Manchester they wouldn't play in Red, White and Black and they wouldn't have United in their name. They're an exclusive club for the select band of people whose Raggish credentials are pure enough to be allowed in. Fan ownership means nothing if a pre-requisite is to support a different club in the first place.

They love a good right winger at FCUM....

No, but seriously, I bet they support them so they don't have to waste their Mama and Papa's inheritence money watching 'big united', they can get the train up from Cheshire and pretend they were kicking off on the terraces during the 80's, all they want, but they aren't kidding me!

i think they are have a safe standing demo there with the safe standing roadshow that could be why the mp was there ?

Nothing to do with standing.
The visit was about informing the minister about how the club used a tax free benefits scheme to encourage people to buy shares in a community investment (or something like that).
