Every time I see that this thread is back on the first page in the General Forum, I hope that I'll open it and read about an insolvency event for this bunch of jokers. They're a club with no identity of their own - they just leech one from someone else. Half-arsed, ego-trip tribute acts have no place in football.
I see there's been no confirmation of this so far, but were that true, it would be a disgrace in the current economic situation. The indulgence that the Council has shown this dismal outfit down the years is deplorable, but surely even the deluded twats there who've supported backing FC Vanity Project must see that throwing good money after bad in a cost of living crisis is reprehensible.
It's beyond me that they're still averaging 1,699 so far this season. I can't see why any fucker would want to watch a pathetic crowd of wannabes who laughably think that stealing someone else's kit and name makes them a legitimate offshoot of the other club.
I await hearing that their gates are dwindling and dropping back into three figures, but for the moment they seem to have hit a plateau. Since relegation from National League North in 2019, they've averaged 1,668 (for 2019/20)* and 1,755 (for 2021/22)* in the two seasons since then when crowds were allowed, and they're in the middle of those two figures this time.
The good news is that this represents a drop of around 50% from the average of 3,394 that they managed in 2015/16*, the first season they spent at Pallet Park. That was the fourth best gate in the whole of English non-league football and exceeded the figures of 10 teams in the Football League.
Last season, their 1,755 average represented the 23rd best gate in non-league and they're currently 26th in the present season. The list I've linked to has them at 31st, but includes 5 teams from Northern Ireland. Anyway, hopefully they'll stay at the level they're now at and their support will slip away further with time.

Big rumours this lot have borrowed another 150k from the council ?

They average about 1,600 this season. I think that’s about half of what they got when they first started.
