FC United Thread

Okay well you got the fan bit right but we've never had financial clout. If you actually knew what you were talking about you'd know that other than season 1 when we received initial donations and the year we got to the 2nd round of the FA Cup we've made a loss every single year primarily because of having to pay extortionate amounts to rent our temporary home venues.

As we speak we have one of the lowest wage budgets in the league dispite having the 2nd highest attendance. It's not as simple as you like to think. And to add to that back in our formative years in the games we played at our opposition's home grounds the revenue they made from that one game amounted to what they would usually make over many years so they were churning out pretty healthy profits whilst our revenue was being drained renting Bury.

That's amazing what you've done there. Bet your mates in the playground were impressed.

You're once again showing your true rag colours by telling people they don't know what they are talking about, arrogance personified. It doesn't matter how much time you spend on a Manchester City fans forum spouting on like Lord Haw Haw about your elite football club you will never change my view or opinion I have formed about your club and supporters.

Many at the time were idiots then, to this day we still have a great relationship with many of the North West counties clubs.[/QUOTE]

NO YOU DON`T..........So obviously you don't know what you are talking about.

As this is a football forum can I just mention last night's result: Kidderminster Harriers 4 FC Splitters 0.
You certainly can, you were a bit quiet during our previous 7 game unbeaten run though ;)
They may well have taken pay cuts to drop divisions but they were still paid more than what other regular NWCL players were receiving.
You are like a politician who can never give a straight answer.... Full of spin.
No, they weren't. As I keep saying we've always paid peanuts. We didn't need to give players more money than other clubs as we had other things to offer that were unique at that level.
He'll be telling us the Kidderminster branch of Leeds United supporters club were out in force....
Always liked Kidderminster
You don't wanna hear my version of events apparently so here's just a few comments from opposition supporters after last night's game:

As a kiddy fan at the game I just want to say your support was class tonight. Shows others up

F.C. United of Manchester by far and away the best away supporters I’ve seen up aggborough for years they just don’t stop singing fair play to them

They were great at blyth on the weekend

Same when they came up to darlo.Never stopped singing.

When they came down to Lowestoft a couple of years ago best atmosphere in 50 years of supporting my team.

At the end of the day, despite what the moaners and haters say about who FC sing about what is always clear is their support is exceptional, home and away. So yes fans can moan about the fact they sing about United but really they're just being idiotic as they know deep down their own support doesn't match up.

To be honest I don’t care the fact they sung when they were 4-0 down shows what a great bunch they are

Based on the followings I have seen so far, FC United the best fans to visit Bootham Crescent so far this season. Very vocal and barley stopped singing. Good atmosphere

If you're going to post things that are factually incorrect then it is quite obvious that you aren't too familiar with the subject matter. Bit of a narrow minded view to take looking from the outside but it would be interesting to know if you've ever actually been and experienced those supporters you've formed a view of. Plus what on earth is an elite football club?
NO YOU DON`T..........So obviously you don't know what you are talking about.
Very convincing argument. We actually do. Rammy, Radcliffe, Trafford are 3 that immediately spring to mind. Hell even Salford City, Gary Neville visited to get some ideas from us before they improved their ground and we've visited them in recent times for similar.

But yeah I'm sure you know better.

I've seen Fc Utd fans, and pond life is an apt way to describe them..

....hilarious 4.0 defeat .

The crest if a wave they were on a decade ago, seems a long long time ago now.

Crowds have plummeted when you look at fc wherever this week were at Bury

Bet most of the songs were anti citeh or Liverpool or Leeds
I'll take that bet, they weren't they were mostly FCUM songs, like every week.

Actually our crowds are up on pre Broadhurst Park attendances and currently only slightly under season one's average. I wouldn't worry too much we have one of the highest attendances in non league, we'll be fine but thanks for the concern.

And we're gonna get beat off full time pro clubs midweek fairly often, just the way it goes. Hope you enjoyed our little run the last 6 weeks though :)

Mostly up..remind me of the crowds F2f flash in the pan got at Bury , and what they get now stop trying to spin it .
About 3000 in the first season, about 2000 - 2500 for the majority of years at Gigg Lane. These days around 2000 - 2500 with the last two games at about 3000. Not a huge difference.

Your revenue was drained paying two full time employees (I think) 25K and 20K when in the NWCL. How many other clubs in the NWCL employ one full time staff, never mind two!

Not sure how you expect us to operate without at least minimal full time employees. I've quite frankly no idea how many full time staff clubs in division 10 employ but we're comparing apples with oranges here aren't we. There aren't many clubs with 4000 owners and over a thousand season ticket holders in division 10 neither. Do you honestly reckon that is manageable without office staff? I've seen how much our office staff have on their plate at any one time and if it wasn't for our volunteers we'd need twice as many full time staff to deal with the workload.

Hardly a stroll in the park running a football club you know It's a tough job.

I know it's only a minor point.

But if you have formed your own club, want to create your own identity and history, as well trying to make a complete break from the way Football is run, which frankly is impossible to do, at least stop singing United songs, and anti City and Liverpool songs, because quite frankly it makes you all look like a bunch of small time (United) c***'s.

I think you will find this season based on league games the average is 2036 so nearer 2000 then 2500 but then again we're use to you over exaggerating every thing FC

Thank you, but yeah, I do seem to know better.
Were you not at the NWCFL game V Maine Road held at Staylybridge ???? Ask the stewards, or the staff at the Indian Restaurant connected to the ground, or the locals of the Pub on the corner of the car park .
Were you not at the pre season "friendly" V Oldham Town F.C.?????? Ask the turnstile operator, or the young car park attendant.
Were you at the NWCFL game V Atherton Colls ??????? Ask the staff of the clubhouse.
Are just 3 that spring to mind. But then again non of the Chuckle Brothers have ever visited any of the above.
I REPEAT NO YOU DON'T !!!!!!!!!!!!

I know 7 people who were regulars/season ticket holders , 2 of whom used to go home and away, who have jacked it in in the last 18 months. 2 have gone to watch Rammy United and 2 more back to big United , the other 3 just don't go to football anymore but I suspect that they have become armchair rags/
rats leaving a sinking ship?
