FC United Thread

The brazen beggars would probably have gone to Manchester City Council to ask for a £1 million "matched funding" or loan.
Does anyone know what has happened to the original splitters board ?
Do they still support their punk football vision ?

He also somehow became the Non League Man for the Football Supporters Federation and in this piece he questions why York City are making such large losses!
You can’t make this shit up!

I recall at the time there was a suggestion from some Splitters that they should not renew membership of the FSF while their former GM was on the National Council as the Non League representative.

How did he manage to say this in front of 300 folk and keep a straight face? Staggering!

Addressing the 300-strong Burton Stone Lane WMC audience, Walsh said: “There is not a bank or a finance company that would give me money if I did not put forward a business plan, so why should the Trust give JM Packaging £50,000 a year or their 25 per cent shareholding for no say in how the club is run.

“FC United of Manchester had a turnover of £1.3million last season so, for this club to be running up operating losses last season of more than £500,000, there is something wrong. All of you fans are putting more than £50,000 into the club every year by coming through the turnstiles and, if people are then being asked to shake buckets, that’s crisis management.

His reinvention to achieve that position is remarkable.
A very interesting article, where the cheeky charlatan makes out that FSCUM were a highly successful organisation with £1.3 million turnover, in 2017.
Does that include the £900,000 they owe Manchester City Council ?
I am always amazed how the splitters and their previous and past boards have managed to evade scrutiny from the media ?
Bring back Granada's "World in Action" for an in-depth investigation into their accounts...

Louie Edward’s doesn’t like this

The begging bowls out again, they want supporters to think about what they’d spend on travel, admission, food & drink & just give it to them. They want 1,000 fans to give them £20. They keep going on about how responsibly they’re running the club financially & their best efforts at financial forecasting (which anyone can see is an absolute pipe dream) they have had to resort to begging for donations off the same few fans constantly. When will they realise that 1500 people aren’t going to to pay off the massive debt?

We must always plan for worst-case scenarios. If we do not secure sufficient home fixtures, we may need to consider additional fundraising efforts to ensure the club’s ongoing stability.

Thank you for your continued support

It also shows that their model (business/club) ain't working.

It's simple maths. Players/staff wages v income. If the first is bigger than the second then they are in shit street.
Begging bowls and council grants are NOT punk football.
