Really?

I know he doesn't like being honest if it means being negative about his own team but is he seriously suggesting that Rooney, Berbatov and Owen are better than Tevez, Adebayor and Bellamy?
 
well the only player they have lost from last year was ronaldo and not to let facts get in the way of a good story but if the competition for striking places is so fierce at united did he insist on sending out a patched up rooney instead of berbatov against bayern and why is he insisting on doing it tommorow?
 
He's obviously saying it for a bit of mind games, but it's true to be honest. In a way, i'm not sure we have ANY competition for Tevez, maybe Stevie Ireland, but that's it. Tevez is playing in the hole. Rags had Rooney who could also play there, and Berbatov also likes to play from deep. We have strikers that like to play from wider areas (Bellers and Ade (to a degree)), or stay high up the pitch (RSC and Ade (he's starting to stay up top more often)), and are therefore no threat to Tevez's position in the side. Only if Ireland dramatically improved his form would we have someone else to play in the hole, and even then, Tevez would probably be the most likely player to play as the main striker, and would not end up on the bench. So Bacon Face is right. He's still a twat though, of course!
 
It's an honest assessment by Fergie in the sense that when he was at United there was Ronaldo, Rooney, and Berbaflop, and lets be honest here, Ronaldo and Rooney were above him in the pecking order no matter what formation or system United played, I think Tevez must have been seriously put out by Berbaflop playing alot af games before him, however Fergie doesn't really answer the question fully, as anyone and I mean anyone can see that Tevez would walk into the current United side, and he is missed more, than anyone at United realised he woud be. The difference between Tevez at United and Tevez at City is, we play him in a system that suits him, where as at United he had to fit in a system more designed to Ronaldo. But Fergie goes on to mention they bid for Tevez but couldn't meet his owners estimation, which clearly indicates United wanted him.

There's a lot of misunderstanding here. The press and other supporters conveniently forget that he was only ever on loan there. At the end of the loan period, they offered the pre-agreed transfer fee to keep him. Carlitos didn't want to stay there and the offer was turned down. It is often lazily reported that United didn't want him and they sold him to us!!

Sir Alex Ferguson insists he does not regret allowing Carlos Tevez to join Manchester United's neighbours and rivals City.

Tevez will likely be in the firing line for Manchester City when they host United at Eastlands on Saturday, live on Sky Sports 1 & HD1.

He will be hoping to find the net again having scored against his former club in both legs of the Carling Cup semi-final which United eventually edged.

Despite his tremendous goal scoring record this term, Ferguson says he does not regret selling the Argentina striker.

The right decision
"I have no regrets whatsoever," said the United boss.

"There is no bitterness from me.

"Players leave here from time to time. Some do well, others don't. We move on."

Tevez has flourished at City since his move in the summer and has notched an impressive 28 goals this campaign.

He struggled to have such an impact in his second season at Old Trafford, where he appeared to have fallen down the pecking order behind Wayne Rooney and Dimitar Berbatov.

"Carlos had a good first season with us, I must admit," added Ferguson. "In the second he didn't feature in as many games."

He conceded: "I cannot dispute that he is having a great goalscoring season."

Really? strange that as I don't remember Ushited got anything for him! Come on Sky Sports you really should try harder to get your facts right ;)
