Ferguson reacts to Ashley Williams...

Surprises me the number of people on here trying to claim Fergie 'achieved what he set out to achieve' - not having that for one second.

He was clearly empurpled with rage and bordering on demented when being interviewed about the attempted murder, and made a complete cock end of himself - there are enough people out there making excuses for him and incorrectly lauding his every move as messianic without blues doing it as well?

He wasn't trying to deflect from a poor performance, or skilfully ensuring RVP escaped a ban - it was simply the deranged and desperate ramblings of an old man who is feeling the weight of huge pressure. Nothing more, nothing less.

The worst thing that could happen to him, and the best thing that could happen for us, is he has to retire without winning the league again, as he is desperate to go out on a high.

We show him far too much respect. Not for what he's achieved, for what he is now.

Mobile phones will now be issued to prem footballers so they can have notice of impending "DOOM BY FOOTBALL".
Hopefully this will kerb the glut of severe accidents of grown men being seriously injured by inflable pig bladders..

I'm not so sure, Ferguson has had his every utterance treated with uncritical respect for so long he no longer self censors. When you've been a high status individual as long as he has, surrounded by flunkies and sycophants, there is no need to think stuff through, your opinions hold sway, not because of their veracity, but because you hold them.

Correct me if I'm wrong but RVP did escape a ban for grabbing a player by the throat and punching another, nor has there been mention of it by the press. Whether he meant it or not, he had the desired effect.
