I know. But I sense that wouldn't be the case. Coz 1) we'd keep possession better, 2) we'd win the ball more in their half with Delph and Dihno biting at their heels the minute they get it.I just think we'd be over run through the middle.
Bold Claim, but here goes:
I think we slightly over rate him because pundits slightly under rate him. He's probably one of our most consistent performers and is also one of our most complete players but he isn't a leader in his position. He's more of a side kick to a more gifted player. That's not a knock on him, but he doesn't really have the personality to dominate the game with the ball. He might work the hardest off it, and close down the most space, but i'd still like to see more from him when we have the ball. Last night was a perfect example. He was just much more involved playing on the right.
For whatever reason, when he plays centrally, even alongside Fernando or Delph, teams often play through us and for some reason he's always above blame for it. Sorry to spoil the love in, overall i think he is quality but i do think when he plays centrally we waste a lot of his qualities and over rely on some of his other qualities. On the right last night we saw a perfect balance of his ability and he actually gave the performance we've all been wanting Navas to produce from the same position for the last 2 seasons.
What's an Austin Allegro? He's an upgraded Milner in much the same way that an Audi R8 is an upgraded Austin Allegro.

Yeah i agree he has been a loss. We've lost a little bit of solidarity and he helped with that.Good post. He is a really good player and one who I think still has a future next year under Pep. He is one of those players, much like Milner that would get a good amount of games in any team/squad due to their attitude and industry. Neither are world beaters, but you know what your going to get from them.
On the subject of Milner, I think he has been a huge loss for us this season. With the injuries we've had, his ability to play in numerous positions has been badly missed.
