Fernandinho (continued)

His work ethic is excellent, and he put a real shift in today in difficult circumstances. Thought he was a bit sloppy in possession at times though.

Unfortunately age has caught frank and this, imo, affected Fernandinho's influence. He did as well as he could have been expected to,i think second half fitness also caught up with him, hence the substitution.

Love Fernandinho, he's a top player, but have to agree with Ric and disagree with the earlier comments, I thought it was one of his poorer games for us.

In the first half he looked very nervous in possession, kept making poor decisions and could have been booked 5 or 6 times. He was very exposed because of the midfield we picked though.

I can see where you're coming from. His distribution was too ambitious and poor before half time. However, he broke up Arsenal breaks and possession brilliantly from 10 mins onwards and once he remembered every player's golden rule (give it to Silva), he really excelled in the second half.

As Rick said, great work rate and tackling but some of his passing was very poor and that had nothing to do with who was playing with him. He is a quality player though without doubt.

Played the first 20 mins like a pub player but really grew into the game. Nice to see him back as he will be key against Bayern and Chelsea.

I thought that he was as good as anyone. He had to cover for Frank who started for reasons that escape me. Ric, mate, I understand what you say but distribution is not his main job. If Yaya was there, he would have slid it to him and it could have then been binged 50 yards.
