sorry for not being upto speed guys...but is this dude any good ..would he make a difference?

In the Champions League this year he averaged 3 times more successful dribbles per game than any City player has managed in the Premier League (3.9 dribbles per game, our top dribbler is Aguero with 1.9 per game).

My pedantic contribution is to point out that 3 times 1.9 is 5.7.

Pedantry noted, but I meant to type "3 more". :)

Lightweight middle of the road player - nothing truly exceptional - not sure why we think this type of player is going to help us win our league next season never mind cope with the likes of Bayern and Dortmund

You clearly have not seen him play nor have the foresight to understand what he could achieve when you put in a team with Aguero, Yaya, Kompany, Silva..etc

Fernandinho has pulled Shakhtar out of tight situations.. the guy can and has been an underrated match winner most of the times... He was a nightmare for Chelsea. There is a very good reason why his coach is having a public hissy fit and insulting us, because he knows very well he is about to lose a world class box to box player with the ability to power shoot accurately from range, shift the ball with some serious pace and really get stuck in and cover defenders... In simple terms he is like a brazilian upgrade on De Jong and Ramires but with the added ability passing, shooting and speed.
This sounds good cos I like Ramires.

Which would still be mathematically wrong LC ;)

Wouldn't mind more of this at the Etihad.

He is a massive upgrade on ramires, he has a better range of passing and finishing. He is highly regarded in shakhtar and it is thought that the deal could possibly have been negotiated (not signed) back in january, but that his club wanted him to stay to help win the title.

He is a quality player and I would have him or Paulinho as the deep lying midfielder we need to allow Yaya to operate further forward.

756 pages later "Why hasn't this gone through yet", "PSG are favourites for his signature now".

Only joking. He's ours? Ain't he? Hopefully?

Is he similar to Khadiera?

imo Better....he is what is now known as the complete midfielder so he can both defend and protect the back four, break-up attacks and build up our own plus counter-attack with speed.

I have just seen a picture of this Ferdinandho guy on sky sports website, didn't realise he was black! I thought he was a Leonardo type looking guy.

Really think before you make a comment like this. I don't think you are being racist but seriously what difference does it make?

Shit sturrer

I'd imagine once there's and our seasons are over we'll get news out of England that the deal is set to be completed

Maybe the coach's rant is just a sign of how close we are to completing the deal. This guy would be really great and a good first signing from the Spanish boys :)

Couldn't have put it better ... this is why the Txiki doubters should really have faith in him giving us a top Summer if this is the type of player he is bringing into the team... Just want him signed cos RagCafe will go into meltdown...!

Castles tweeted a link title something along the lines of 'Txixi's first signing'.

I replied with "what about the reports saying Shakhtar want 50mil, with quotes from their manager?"

He direct messaged me back saying "Fighting talk. But it's not Lucescu who decides who gets sold or how much for."

Interesting.

Duncan Castles tweeted, who is a pretty good ITK when it comes to City, and got the above reply... Most of the ITKs like Castles and Di Marzio, hardly get anything wrong and are saying the same thing that deal almost done... hopefully is a matter of time when this will happen and I think we will have most if not all of our signings done within the first 3-4 weeks of the window opening... more worried about the Cavani deal!

Castles told me on this to put money on Van Rapist joining us.

Khadiera's not in the same league as Fernandinho, this guy is awesome.
