Fernandinho is a holding midfielder who can do this... we're finally leaving the prehistoric age and getting with the times. The best holding midfielders can do more than tackle these days!

No chance are we getting rid of Garcia to make room for him, i fear Gaz Baz may due to his age.

not a chance, first name on the team sheet and will be offered a new 2 year contract extension

I hope so, the only reason i said Gaz was his age nowt to do with his ability.
That said i dunno what our financial situ is exactly, i'm sure Txiki and Soriano know what they are doing though.

Seen him a few times. Really good player. Bit surprising if true as I didn't expect City to go for a player in that position. Similar to Yaya I think, but much higher energy

Ah that explains it.

After Fernandinho's quotes in January it seems as though he knew the deal was done. Maybe allowing him to stay til the end of the season was a nice gesture from us.

Di Marzio is suggesting he stayed there in Jan due to Shakhtar's Champions League commitments, they only progressed at the last minute IIRC

With all the 'signings' and 'done deals' that have already been done I think I'll wait till the club officially announce his signing before getting too excited. But he played really well against Chelsea and could be a real asset to us. Obviously a couple of good games doesn't make him a great player but I think I'll reserve judgement on him till I've actually seen him play for us (if we have actually signed him).

I'd be gutted to see Barry go.

I think he will be given an extension but will only feature in the league and cup game.
