I've been vociferous in saying that he wasn't good enough, however, behind Zabs I thought he was our best player last night. Often drove us forward, played plenty of forward passes, and was very tidy in what he did.

Indeed.I've always been a fan of Fernando,of course he's limited, but he's a player who can never be accused of giving anthing less than his best,as he did last night.
Given the condition of our midfield presently,he might just prove instrumental in the forthcoming games.

The octopus lives.... He was immense in the second half, intensity, desire and even drove at Arsenal at times..

If only he could be this consistent against the mid table sides, however, he has a great knack of upping his game against the better teams!!

Actually blame him for their goal, had view of Walcott throughout & should've tracked his run. Didn't watch the replays though so maybe I'm mistaken.

After that though he was immense, he's a very tidy squad player & played great again today.

Yeah, you're.... Kev takes responsibility on that one, along with clichy who showed him the pass inside, he should of ushered him wide!

Today's performance shows why Txiki Bergirstian had bought in Fernando in the first place.

No doubt they take some blame, but someone has to track Walcott, from what I saw Fernando was in front of him looking at him & let him run past through the gap, with no one else to mark, if he'd tracked I don't think the pass gets through & goal prevented.

Catalogue of errors starting with KdB I suppose, just felt Fernando could've been the man making the block, as he usually is. I'll have to watch it back though.

Also take note of zabs slip...

People say he's shit but the big games, notably in Europe, he delivers. He just shouldn't be playing in a 2 man midfield against Hull.

Pressed like a maniac second half and was responsible for numerous turn overs of possession in our favour

One of those performances where it can unnoticed because of lot of his work was without the ball

Think the list could include Kev, Clichy, Kolarov & Otamendi for creating that gap, Fernando for not plugging & Zab for slipping.

But yes, the overall feeling has to be one of Fernando had another very good game, if he had a bit more confidence in his passing he'd be near Dinho's level but he's just a bit scared to misplace them & plays that bit more safe.

More than happy he's in the squad, a definite upgrade on what Garcia was for sure.

Man of the match and given some of the performances today, that says everything.

Fantastic.
