@mancityff: Fernando HAD an agreement in principe with Porto president to renew with for 50k€/week + 3m€ for his two agents. (1)

@mancityff: But City offered 10m€ for his agents - no details on player's contract.
Jorge Mendes is expected to be behind that. (2)

@mancityff: (3) Fernando has apparently faked an injury against Maritimo which has angered Porto's president. So there's two solutions for him:

@mancityff: 1) He's sold immediately to City for around £5m.

2) He train alone till the end of his contract and join free - and miss the World Cup (4)

Surely it is worth it for us to pay the 5 million and get in some depth for midfield now.

Be very surprised if this is true. City are really arsey over agent's fees.

Plausible that they might make the exception to try and buy Mendes though, as he's a long term asset rather than just a one off "bribe"

Why do I get the feeling Txiki and this Mendes fella are really close friends. The agent fees will make up for the low transfer fee. £6 million first reported. No doubt that will rise

Yep, though we do deal with the aforementioned agent

I think we're circling and things are being added to the melting pot, I'm happy either way, he's a fantastic player, will compliment fernandinho greatly , also allowing him to push on in the same vain as yaya has this year, if he signs now or in the summer we're improved, which in the grand scheme of things is scary..... It also shows the forward thinking, the thought of yaya coming to the end of his time at city scares a good few people, including me, however, fernandinho can play that role with his eyes shut, if we get this guy expect another 10+ goals from midfield!
