Fernando

Hasn't been helped by having some of the laziest players in football around him. When he's in there with fernandinho it's as good a pairing as there is in Europe

I agree. I hope that I'm not being too cynical in thinking that he upped his game only when he realised that he needs to catch the eye of other clubs to get himself sorted for next season.
He struggled last year with injuries and settling in to a new league and team but this year he's shown what he's capable off. I can't see Pep getting rid myself (this is Fernando I'm talking about BTW).

He was world class against Arsenal and was unlucky to be subbed. He did also show some offensive skills in that game. I think he's been one of our better players this second half of the season but I'm far from sure he will be a part of Pep plans.

Got pretty sharp on those interceptions in midfield - we saw it for the first time in Sevilla. He could be kept as a squad player.

I'm starting to like him - he's finally gelling with the team and getting used to the Prem. Very hand squad player and I think Pep can make good use of him.

Criticism at this point would be his reaction time and turning circle, he doesn't seem to be able to change directions quickly and thus gets caught out.

Our best player since the turn of the year.
Yup. But folks can't let go of their preconceived notions. Only player in the CM position I have no issues with when it comes to who gets to stay. Delph is a crock, Fernandihno is getting old, Yaya is past it. The only player who looks guaranteed to be better next season is Fernando. Last name I'd considered dropping at CM.
