It was widely reported weeks ago that the Italian national manager will stand down at the World Cup and that Mancini will be interested
Anyone who rubbishes Mancini loses all credibility.
It may have been the right time for a change, but he clearly has a lot of positive attributes.
We can't quite get our heads out of the past.
It seems to me that those who criticise and campaigned for Mancini's dismissal assume that any criticism of Pellegrini is down to loyalty to the old manager, but 99% of City fans and first and foremost City fans and understand that there is no use in holding on to something that has gone. If anything it's the Mancini outers who are wearing blinkers at the moment, and refusing to acknowledge any weaknesses or initial difficulties with the new regime
I agree with that.
I was very much in getting behind Hughes and defending the indefensible at times. After he'd gone though and having seen Mancio's teams develop you know it was the right time for Hughes to go.
I try and be more balanced these days, objective but always wearing my City hat of course.
I think the jury is out with Pelligrini so I don't understand how some seem to feel he has already eclipsed Mancini . As somebody else pointed out his record against baconface was impeccable. He won us our first league and FA Cup since 1968/1969. He qualified us for Champions League 3 years in a row and only narrowly missed out in his first half season to 'spuds'. He put 3 trophies in our cabinet and nearly a fourth. He was only with us 3 and a half seasons. His purchases made Hughe look a right plonker - not that that is any kind of benchmark.
OK, it might have been time for a change but why so much antagonism for the guy from some ?
Maybe more of a posters 'power struggle' and a desire by one group or clique to win an argument and impose themselves over others with their views ? Maybe just those who have adopted a view and don't want to admit they were wrong ? Either way, the argument is a weak one that doesn't withstand any scrutiny.
Mancini masterminded the 'sick swan' for goodness sakes. I bet there weren't any doubters on here that day. Short memories some people.
