Few points to make.

Thee first part of what feels like a rant to me as I type this, is an open and honest series of questions.

We are supporters, yes? Our desire is for Manchester City to do well and we back them to do so, or do we? I think it is becoming questionable. In a day and age where the media surround us like sharks waiting to strike and other fans abuse our players more than we possibly ever could, shouldn't we be rallying round the players in their time of need? I just don't understand it.

The second point I would like to make is that it is widely acknowledged accross the bluemoon messageboard that we get criticised left, right and centre for every action the club makes on the whole and as induviduals aswell. Why then do members proceed to make scathing insults on our OWN players and add fuel to the fire? Is unconstructive criticism support? I'd call it borderline abuse!

City fans are becoming everything I feared they would when we got all this money and inevitabely spent it on a superior standard of player that we've bought in. They're becoming complacement, spoilt and expecting immediate success. What they fail to notice is that we have not had consistency within staff for ages - boardroom, managerial and playing. How can they be expected to gain success when they are a bunch of induviduals rather than a collective team that have been playing together years?

THOUGHTS?

Fully agree though will no doubt be labelled a "nodding dog" or "happy clapper".

Best thing is to remember that Bluemoon is not an accurate reflection of the majority of views of ALL Man City fans. So take a lot of what you read with a pinch od salt.

Also it may be worth pointing out that we are still in August and the kids (who may not have known or remember the bad times and as such are getting spoilt) are still off school.

This forum , and other city forums , was always quite opinionated even BEFORE we took all this wealth on board ...... players get judged on their performances , nothing else ...... as you probably would in any job , personality clashes aside.

Some peoples view of a player may differ from others , but that's life .... and that what makes a forum , varied views ...... if a player drops form , or doesn't deserve to be in the side , then why shouldn't he get flak?

All the money does is increase peoples and players expectations ..... but why shouldn't it?

After all you'd expect a better performance from your car if you put in super unleaded rather than normal unleaded , wouldn't you?

Can't really agree with that 'SWP' .......

in my experience i've found the views of fans on Bluemoon to be pretty accurate with the views on other city forums , and beyond ........ certainly not ALL City fans as you point out , but probably the vast majority.

Course you would BM, but at the same time we're going to through yet another "transitional" season where players will take time to bed in and develop an understanding with each other and we're reliant on moments of individual brilliance until we do so.

Black Mamba, I can understand giving them flak if it's constructive, but when it's not it's abusive and does the player or the team no favours. I'm just thankful and hopeful that this abuse, if they are going to dish it out, remains on here and doesn't stem into the stadium at matches.

I think some people are going to be dissapointed with their "expectations" this season because it will take time for them to gel and it will take time to play as a team and though the squad on paper looks good, we've got that many cracking players that it will take time for Mancini to find his best team.

Thoughts? Absolute shite. Mate, you need to understand the distinction between being a supporter at the game, getting behind the team no matter what, supporting them until the last second, backing the players and manager, and coming on here to discuss issues which all fans feel happy/unhappy about. I havent been on here as long as you, but I think this whole bashing fans who doesnt sing the 'all things at city are perfect' hymn daily is getting not only immature but insulting. I don't see this forum as some little 'lets wipe each others arses' game, lets all drool and salivate at all things City. It's the real world, even in a hyperreal environment like the internet. People have opinions. Thoughts. Passion. Anger. Disappointment. Concerns. Hopes. Fears. Whether that be about the tactical direction, players signed and transfered. What is just as divisive as the things you perceive, is arguing with fans who are more cautious about Mancini than others, who believe football is more than just results. We all want the same thing. Success. Some will want it no matter how it's achieved. Others will want it achieved in a certain way. Whether that be style, integrity, or whatever they deem appropriate.

I don't think fans who were consumed by the smell of piss on the kippax, who had their heart ripped out during the 90's decade are complacent, spoilt or expecting immediate success. We have earned the right to say whatever we want, whenever we want no matter how positive or negative it might be perceived by people who wish to use the site as a way of reaffirming their allegiance. Not all of us need to use the site for that reason. We don't need to prove ourselves as fans, by just uttering shite for the sake of being positive.

I take your point about it criticism from the outside. We are still here. Still together. We will be on Monday evening. Attendances are higher than ever. But remember, we shouldnt give a fck about what others think or say. I want to know what my fellow blues think, good and bad. Not what the press throw at us. I am adult enough to debate something on here with someone who passionately disagrees, than say, 'lets go for a beer' just because we support the same team, in order to prove our unity against the mafia.

Go and sit in one of the more vocal parts of the ground and the crowd have always yelled and cursed at the players.

Always been that way. Why would Bluemoon be any different?

Bluevibe and Mancitynet are just the same
