Few points to make.

This forum , and other city forums , was always quite opinionated even BEFORE we took all this wealth on board ...... players get judged on their performances , nothing else ...... as you probably would in any job , personality clashes aside.

Some peoples view of a player may differ from others , but that's life .... and that what makes a forum , varied views ...... if a player drops form , or doesn't deserve to be in the side , then why shouldn't he get flak?

All the money does is increase peoples and players expectations ..... but why shouldn't it?

After all you'd expect a better performance from your car if you put in super unleaded rather than normal unleaded , wouldn't you?

Excellent post Mamba!

I think the general gist of both the OP and a few of the other nodding dogs on this site, is that because we're getting bashed in the press, we should only say good things here on Bluemoon. But it kind of defeats the purpose of Bluemoon if people aren't allowed to express their opinions honestly, whether they be positive or negative...

I did tell you CTID didn't I.

You couldn't make it up (well Billy didn't, he saw De Niro used it and copied). De Niro your new object of desire in the absence of SuperFriend?

Billy - did you used to post in a more pro-City way before your friend was "badly treated"? If you did, then can you not see how other posters find your opinion less valid as it has been swayed by personal feelings to a friend.

I would rather be a nodding dog than whatever some are on here.

Can't really agree with that 'SWP' .......

in my experience i've found the views of fans on Bluemoon to be pretty accurate with the views on other city forums , and beyond ........ certainly not ALL City fans as you point out , but probably the vast majority.

But 95% of City fans don't go on a club forum mate. Hence my point. I tend to find that those that go on forums (on the whole) have views that are more polarised than those that just go to games or watch in the pub.
I bet the combined membership of City's Internet boards are more than 5% of match-going fans. 5% of 40k = 2,000

I am sure we are all very familiar with the Edghill Out and Your not fit to wear the shirt cries that used to frequently circulate around the ground. Sometimes they are justified. Usually not, and usually self-destructive. But that's the nature of football fans. It's our club so we feel we can say what we want to our own, and perhaps the link between fan and player has gone somewhat over the years so fans are more ready to abuse? But I find that there's less abuse now than there ever was, but that probably reflects on the change in supporters behaviour and all seater grounds

because most fans on here that moan, have only been fans since the takeover.

I would say exactly the opposite. Some of the people who are most critical are people who, if their word is to be taken as true, follow city home and away and have done for many years...

ive followed city home and away for 15 years now(only21), i dont moan im just grateful that we are not in divison 2 anymore, or playing shit football week in week out, never winning and dreaming to finish in the top 10.

i just dont understand why people on here moan all the time, yeah fine if we got beat 4-0 at home to wigan, it just anoys me when people moan about players like de jong and barry who a few years ago we could only dream of getting players like that. people should be thankful.

:)

Sometimes the vocal fans (be they majority or not) get what they ask for 'Swales Out' and sometimes not 'march for Sven'.

It passions like that that keep a club on life support alive sometimes.

Even if you dont agree its still great to see people act not simply moan!

And how many posters do we have that don't go to the games? The posters from further afield, all the guys in the USA, Austrialia, Dubai, Scandinavia - don't be naive. Come on mate, look how many posters are online at any one time (1,000 at the most, more usual number is 300) and the number of people posting on a match thread when we are at home.

I stand by what I said before. 95% of match going blues, do not go on football forums.

Mate, since you cannot manage to post anything in my vicinity without mentioning my "friend" or "super friend" or "fake friend" or whatever - well, it kinda shows you have a bit of a chip on your shoulder, or bee in your bonnet or whatever you want to call it. I was tempted to just post them all (the little snide comments, often unprovoked), but I don't think I need to. Anyone who's seen them will know true enough what I'm talking about.

Anyway, nodding dog's aside, when I see something I want to be positive about I post about it. What's pretty funny is the number of posters like yourself who either don't read what I post, or only read things they can interpret as negative and respond to those. It's...well, it's flattering that it's so important for you to prove me wrong (hasn't that always been the way with you) - but honestly it won't change your life or mine if you do...

Regarding your question about my "friend" and whether I was more positive before he was "badly treated" - I'm sure one of the other old timers on this board can tell you all about my love for Pearce, Wardle, Makin, and Mackintoss...must confess I loved Dr Shinawatara, but I was never sure whether it was because of his eccentric personality or because of the fact that he was reviled by so many on here...

Thoughts?

Yeah, don't you do one of these threads about once every week these days?

Thee first part of what feels like a rant to me as I type this, is an open and honest series of questions.

We are supporters, yes? Our desire is for Manchester City to do well and we back them to do so, or do we? I think it is becoming questionable. In a day and age where the media surround us like sharks waiting to strike and other fans abuse our players more than we possibly ever could, shouldn't we be rallying round the players in their time of need? I just don't understand it.

The second point I would like to make is that it is widely acknowledged accross the bluemoon messageboard that we get criticised left, right and centre for every action the club makes on the whole and as induviduals aswell. Why then do members proceed to make scathing insults on our OWN players and add fuel to the fire? Is unconstructive criticism support? I'd call it borderline abuse!

City fans are becoming everything I feared they would when we got all this money and inevitabely spent it on a superior standard of player that we've bought in. They're becoming complacement, spoilt and expecting immediate success. What they fail to notice is that we have not had consistency within staff for ages - boardroom, managerial and playing. How can they be expected to gain success when they are a bunch of induviduals rather than a collective team that have been playing together years?

THOUGHTS?

Good post but .......... Micah is still clueless moron. I'm cool with everyone else.

The biggest change in City supporters since the takeover is how eager so many of us are to slag off their fellow supporters.

Don't fall for it, we haven't changed. Expectations of how we should act have though it seems.

I would say that I think the nature of football fans per se has got more polarised over the years. The days of City fans going to watch United and vice versa have long time. I think it started in the 70's when we fought for our club and felt it a badge of honour. We started to hate other teams.

I think that we now find much more divisions within our own club due to things like the internet. We were polarised over Sven, Thaksin, Hughes, the North stand Bellamy, Mancini.

There will always be people who are happy with some things and those who are not and where you might never meet someone with an opposingg view the forums allow ALL to have their say.

I have no problems with anybody expressing their views (whether they agree with me or agree that they are wrong...:)) so to have stand up rows with people is silly all I would say is just because you dont agree with something there is a time to let it go and move on
