Feyenoord (H) | CL | Post Match Thread

Biggest problem is in previous squads an injury, and we’ve had them, and we had a player of the same quality or near as damn it, to step in and the team coped/maintained. We don’t have that now. That is a recruitment issue not a squad size issue surely.

Yep and we tried to fill the number 6 role both been not up to it after spending 100m on the two they probably worried to make another clanger!

January we NEED 2 midfielders just so the one we bring in the spotlight will be singing on him the presiding him that he could well struggle! 2 midfielders take the pressure of both!

Why can’t we park a blue bus works for lots of other teams .And try and at least preserve a lead .

You've seen us play under pep? We defend from the front ! When your a possession team tens will eventually go back into deep defence then that makes vulnerable to the transition! Also teams now are good at passing it around the back and our press don't work as good as it used to..

Still in a state of shock about this. I didnt get angry at the ground last night, just a sad feeling of inevitability before the shock set in.

Never known a squad decline so quickly though the writing was on the wall last year when nouse and a bottling arsenal got us across the line.

We totally peaked as a team on that warm night we utterly destroyed the mighty real madrid to get to istanbul and the disastrous recruitment ever since has sent is spiralling to what is now a mid table team/squad.

Time waits for no man. Younger more dynamic men clearly pulled away from what was once the best DOF in football in txiki and where as pep has changed world football (literally down to to u7s football) i also feel his time is up as coaches have sussed how to play him and hes struggling to find any sort of plan B.

I was called all sorts of names on here last night when i stated the result was on pep, but i still stand by it.

Said to the kids last night, who have both only known us to be awesome, thats its over as we know it. But thats fine as ive memories with them that will last a life time.
We’ll turn it round but only to the extent that we will be a team that wins it every 3 years or so with cups in between. Ans thats also fine because maybe the feeling of surprise and happiness will return, a little innocence rather than turning up ‘expecting’.

Ill say this, and ill get roundly slagged so bring it on, but i didnt dance a jig when pep announced his 2 year extension. Ive felt for a bit that we need a change. New DOF , new coach, fresh feeling to it all. Im no ingrate, pep has made dreams come true, but all good things n all that.

A couple of individual mistakes from quality players. The performance was largely controlled and decent to watch.

The treble winning squad had moments when it lost its head. Shipping three in ten mins on Boxing Day v Leicester, the semi away when we lost to Madrid.

The subs changed the game. He wouldn’t have made them in a game against Liverpool say.

This so called hospital pass is getting like the JFK magic bullet. It's only a hospital pass because it's to McAtee. To Gundogan, Silva or Rodri, it's a normal pass.
Perhaps he should have known that, but after 75 mins, difficult to change.
Eh? Not sure if you are thinking about the first goal? I suggest you rewatch it, aimless lob back towards Eddie.
