Feyenoord (H) | CL | Post Match Thread

Safe to say the lads confidence is shot to pieces. This is a team that isn’t used to losing games, certainly not two, three, four and five in a row.

They are very likely second guessing everything they are doing on the pitch right now. Extra touches, snatching at passes, they are a shadow of the team that goes on huge runs… but that side and team is still there, they just need to find a way and they will. Lots of work to do but they can and they will do it.
I’ll have some of what you are drinking.

On the positive side of things we didn’t get beat again…look we’re going through a bad patch. It happens, with the amount of moaning going on in here some of you wouldn’t have lasted 5 minutes supporting City back in the day. We’ll come good again, just got to ride this wave and get through the other side of it.

This is all down to our transfer policy. Everyone knows that we have several 30 odd year old. Why not buy, we are wealthy, you improve the squad. We are going backwards, the good times are over. Bar 5 or 6 players we are average at best. I'm gutted, because I have loved it. I never thought I would have seen what I have seen, I'm 67 on Thursday, I want it back again.
Wishful thinking at your age…;-) I’m 71

We will turn this around.

We just need to have patience.
Agreed. We just need to get to January, get the full squad back, and get a couple of new signings in. We'll finish in the top four and have a good run at the Champions League and FA Cup. Things aren't good at the moment but it's largely down to the entire squad being on the bones of its arse and those bones being utterly spent due to being overplayed... because of the injuries. No coincidence that the defence looks tired and disorganised when it's had to be chopped and changed every week and lads like Lewis and Gvardiol are having to play literally every game.
