I wouldn't like to see it and, thankfully, you're right, there's zero chance of it happening. Play to win. We have several players who will always get a game ahead the likes of Tosin, Foden etc - they're better players, they've played major european ties before and they'll know we can finish the job of securing 1st on Tuesday. No time to fuck about with kids.

These young players will have to be given a chance soon. This is the perfect game to give either foden or diaz some minutes.

If we win on Tuesday and Napoli get a lt least a point against Shakhtar then we win the group. Because if 2 teams finish level on points at the top of a group then the group is decided on the record between the two teams - including away goals. Just like a knock out game. Overall goal difference only counts if the record between the two is equal.

I can see us resting a few on Tuesday - as Fayenoord are pretty poor but not playing the kids.
I expect Danilo, Bernardo, Yaya and Otamendi to start. Definately Kompany to be on the bench.

We should rest the players we cannot afford to be without , Ederson , Walker , KDB , Merlin , Sane (and Kompany and Delph because we are short of defensive cover) , they shouldnt be anywhere near the Etihad on Tuesday , we can still muster an XI that can compete against Feyenoord , the likes of Bravo , Danilo , Mangala , Zinchenko, Bernardo , Toure, Gundogan , Foden , Diaz should be given the chance to impress. As for winning the group , that would be excellent , (but if as expected Real finish 2nd in their group you guarantee we will draw them in the last sixteen). More important to rest vital players for the premier league games at the moment , and the Champions league knock-outs will take care of themselves in February whether we win the group or not.

exactly that team above is more then good enough to win. theres no point in having a big squad if we arent rotating for games like this. feyenoord are poor side. it doesnt matter imo if we finish second or first, we will still have to play the bigger teams later on anyway. one of the posts above suggests could play real madrid if we finish top anyway.....

Was literally about to post saying the same thing. I think the last five games In a row have been negative predictions, and in mid Oct saying we were hugely overrated by the press. It's a bit odd tbh from a man so incredibly positive usually.
