No point sending Adarabioyo, Zinchenko, Foden and Diaz if they won't play, and why should they with the squad we have? Touré is probably not fit, if he is there must be a good reason for his exclusion. And what does 'no experiments' even mean?

People seem to think this is akin to playing a League 2 side at home in the Carabao Cup. It isn't. It's away to an established, big side in the first game of the Champion's League Group Stage. Not the time or place for shoehorning in players who aren't ready just to placate some disappointed people on the internet.

I can't remember how many we usually send, would think 3 keepers in case eddie is not up to being on after all

Why would we be sending 2 17yr olds to a CL game? Muric is a young keeper,not sure how old,that is enough

It just means that if a player goes down with a bug we'll only have 6 on the bench. I'd assumed we'd always take a "spare" outfield player just in case.

EDIT: Presumably the likes of Foden & Diaz will be in Rotterdam with the EDS squad and could be drafted in if necessary

one would be good. and why not ? if they are good enough. why would foden be on the bench most weeks if he wasnt good enough ?. its not that big a deal and i understand why they arent there, but i dont think it would do much harm having maybe one of them there.
