FFP - 21 Man Squad Restriction & Homegrown Quota

Either way doesn't matter all that much in the group stages.

Suppose we leave Kolarov out and he starts the PL games either side of a CL tie- does that really affect us? Similar with say leaving Jovetic and Negredo out.

It only becomes an issue if we have injuries concentrated in our CL registered players in which case things could get messy and it's over to the youth team.

Let's say we leave Kolarov out and he wants out because he is at the club to participate in CL, do you not think this would cause problems in the dressing room?

It may matter more to the players when negotiating a new contract or new signing if we have to say they won't be registered for Champions League. However non of us seem really sure what the ruling is so until we do it's hard to judge.

Squad for CL next year if we don't sign any players but Barry and Lescott leave which is the only official news we have had so far.

Hart
Wright

Academy Player

Zab
Richards

Kompany
Boyata
Demichelis

Clichy
Kolorov

Yaya
Fernandhino

Nasri
Silva

Navas
Milner

Dzeko
Jovetic
Aguero
Negredo

Nastisic is on the B list. In addition the Likes of Lopez and Rekik and all other academy players under 21 can play. In blue the four association players, in purple the three homegrown out of our academy players. The rest 13 foreign players. Total 20 players. If we wanted to include Rodwell then we could drop Wright and go with academy keeper giving a squad of 21. If we want to include Garcia one of the other foreign players must stand down. So if Pellergrini thought that we only needed three strikers in CL he could drop one of Negredo/Dzeko/Jovetic to accomodate him.

Given the group stage is only 6 games best team from above

Hart
Zab
Kompany
Demichelis
Kolorov

Yaya
Fernandhino

Nasri
Silva

Dzeko
Aguero

Subs
Wright
Clichy
Nastisic
Navas
Milner
Negredo
Jovetic

The real problem with these sanctions are players to cover for suspensions or injuries. because we will soon be into using Academy players. But seeing as the group stages are in the main all completed by christmas shouldn't be too bad.

Read..........the..........post..........above

The post above is the ruling based on a 25 man squad.

Why don't you read the actual rule.
It gives a full breakdown of all the allowable squad compositions.

Wish everyone would stop flapping.
The rule all applies under "Total List A (potential)" 25 - we don't know that UEFA haven't bent our punishment squad requirements to put us out more.

Re: FFP - 21 Man Squad Restriction & Homegrown Quota

We could split the season and reregister the squad in Jan with a different combination. If YaYa goes to ACOn we may even have to consider his position.

True.

All I'm trying to put across is it's not disastrous either way.

As someone pointed out we can re-register half way through. Personally, and I know this won't go down well, I wouldn't register Aguero for the group stages.

His body can't handle playing 2 games a week- his goals could have us in pole position for the league by the time we register him.

According to UEFA rules we can add three players for the knockout phase though we have to shed others so as not to breach the limit.
So we can play around with the squad but not make wholesale adjustments.

I read those to be the qualifying rounds up to the group stages. We don't have to qualify therefore the 21 limit is imposed from the off.

21 man limit on squad size applies all the way through but the regulations state that you can add to your squad prior to the knockout phase providing you do not breach your upper squad limit or the number of places reserved for locally trained players.
