FFP

Just been re-jigging my calculations based on a couple of pieces of updated information and I reckon we're looking at a loss of around £75m for the financial year 2011/12 and £25m this financial year.

Adding back £20m for allowable expenditure gives an FFP loss of £55m for 2011/12 and £5m in 2012/13. Adding those together gives a total FFP loss of £60m for the first licencing period. As that's greater than the €45m allowed, we can look at adding back wages paid to players on contracts signed prior to June 2010. That's at least £45m so we'll be well inside the allowable aggregate loss for that first licencing period.

Can anybody tell me what effect someone taking over the rags and paying off their debts would have on their ability to comply with FFP? Are UEFA really saying that this would be okay despite the fact they would get the benefit of 100's of millions of pounds invested that is not generated from the purely football side of their business?

What were your calculations in regards to wages in the 2011/12 period compared to 2010/11?

The ban of the two Turkish Clubs which has been upheld by a European court is something I don't understand. How come they can't appeal on the grounds that taxation laws in different countries creates an uneven playing field on players wages. I don't see how a court of law can support such a restriction of trade.

I assumed roughly similar as we got some players in but also got rid of quite a few as well. I've shown total operating costs (excluding amortisation & finance charges) of £230m.

Was our wage bill last season around 175m? That was more than our turnover
Our turnover for the last financial year should be around £230m so assuming wages stay at the same level they will be just over 75% of turnover. This financial year they should be down to low 60's.

What stick will our critics use to beat us with then?

Fantastic analysis as always PB and it appears we are looking good with FFP...........

Firstly i am still buzzing my tits off about yesterday as im sure we all are! But does anyone know how this will improve out prospects of meeting with FFP rules? Slightly more prize money (800k ish) but is there anything more significant than that?
