from the bitter red dipper in the mirror...brian read...

"So Chester City, who were founded 1884 and nurtured one of European football's all-time greats, Ian Rush, are no more. Wound up, in 30 seconds, for not being able to pay a £26,000 tax bill.

Meanwhile near-neighbours Manchester City had the previous weekend off, and three of their players flew to Miami to rent £10,000-a-night suites. The amount spent in one night on a hotel bed by three players being more than enough to keep Chester alive.

Which begs a question: What's the difference between Chester City and Manchester City? A Man. Or rather a billionaire.

And the more billionaires our game welcomes, the more Robinhos will be bought and less Ian Rushes nurtured. And the more Chesters will go to the wall

Welcome to the future

Footballer's wages are disgusting but what's the difference between City's high-waged players, and say, Liverpool's? Why aren't Gerrard's and Torres' wages saving the club which nurtured Ian Rush, a Liverpool legend? It's just anti-City drivel.

yeah i've just read that in the paper, what an idiot that guy is. I mean soooorrrryyy for not pumping money into chester. It's horrible seeing a club lost but we can't be responsible for helping others survive.

Have not seen the plans we released yesterday?, the ones that will potentially open up hundreds of jobs for local working class people.

They should have got Ian Rush to pay it then. I'm sure 26k isn't going to plunge him in poverty!

More f'kin scouse self-pity. It's always someone elses fault.

near-neighbours! he's having a laugh

i work in chester and guess who every fucker there supports? Scum, liverpool and everton.
so if anyone should be helping them out then they should.

oops, can't can they, they're all in debt too, sorry

hope they all end up like chester too

"justice for chester 11 laaaaaaaaaaaa""

its the police's fault "

Or Chelsea fans....or The Sun....or the NF.......ad nauseaum...

I blame the rags, Chester's regular fans are probably sat in the swamp eating prawn sandwiches instead of supporting their local team.

Also its the rags and their top 4 buddies that have created this finacial divide in football, if anything City are giving hope to other clubs to sort themselves out as we did which will result in future investment in the club.

What idiots like this Mirror reporter do not realise is that every club has the right to have some success not just the G14 teams, times are tight in all industries so its hardly a surprise that lower league clubs will struggle.
