FIFA Club World Cup 2025 | Knockout Stage

We need to accept mistakes. And that was a big one (despite many on here living in cloud cuckoo land about it). Otherwise we’ll never learn lessons….
He wanted to leave the club.

Who wants to keep a player around that doesn't want to be there?

It doesn't work like that at MCFC. If you want out..... off you go.

You have to give credit to those who still won’t accept how incredibly good Palmer is and what a huge dropped bollock it was to sell him when he himself didn’t even want to leave. The mind gymnastics to justify it is truly impressive!! Hahaha

It’s okay to say that the club made a mistake.

If they ever start doing pre match and half times shows on this scale in the European game, that's me calling time on football.

I'll be heading down to watch Altrincham

Agree, at the time the money seemed good for a player unlikely to play regularly any time soon. Add in Phil was pulling up trees at the time so it made perfect sense.

He’s simply a better fit for them and would likely never have been able to play at this level in our system. The problem is no matter the circumstances, if you sell an academy product to a rival and they instantly go on to be one of the leagues/Europes best and most elite players, you will always look slightly daft regardless of context.

Yep. And if you replace them with average players like we have, you look even more so.
