It's a caste iron certainty that, come the "new" FIFA elections, Blatter's ego won't allow him to stand aside. He'll make sure his name is on the ballot, and unless someone can convince his voting block areas of Africa, Oceania and Asia to turn their back on him, he'll be the favourite to win yet again. He really does have no shame, he clearly resigned a month or so ago, yet was clever in that he never actually used the word "resign" in his statement, thus giving him the option to squirm his way out of it if his behind the scenes lobbying/waggon circling gave him the impression he still had a bedrock of support.
