Are FIFA getting ideas beyond their status? Who are they to dictate terms to nations about their politics and operations? FIFA are just too power hungry for me nowadays and i can see a breakaway for some football associations in the future if they get too big for their boots.

Can see the claims of FIFA and the New World Order... Although sport is now the opiate of the masses...

FIFA is a foul, bloated and pestilent governing body riddled with corruption. Maybe the time has come for a vote of no confidence in it's ability to govern football (see their goal line technology stance) and create a brand new system where teams who fail to qualify via group stages are not given helping hands to get through playoffs because FIFA desperately want them at their World Cup finals.

FIFA need football more than football need them..
They should remember this.. full of stuffy old gits living in the dark ages.

Bastards they are!! Deciding the rules for the competitions that they operate, I don't know who they think they are!

We should let all politicians get involved with footballing affairs, as this is what the world needs right now.

In general I think FIFA are a disgrace, but certainly in the case of Nigeria they have a point.

Do you think David Cameron should be able to ban the England team from playing because he's in a bad mood? It's ridiculous and FIFA are right to tell them not to get involved.

Actually they have had this rule in for a long time and I agree with FIFA. At no point should Govt's be able to interfere with sport at any level. I seem to remember them banning Iraq from football when Saddam's son was the manager of the team and if they lost they were beaten by his bodyguards. If the French fall foul of this then they could well be banned. I don't have a problem with it myself, I mean a Prime Minister/President should be doing more important things (like sorting out the depression we are in at the moment) than asking Evra et al, why they didn't play well at a World

Hmm, actually might be a good idea if we employ Saddam's son's technique of beating up players who don't perform - would love to see Shrek getting a good kicking of some burly sunglass' wearing baldy bodybuilder...

I think that there is every possibility that BullyBoyBlatter would flex his muscles and tweak Nigeria's nose with a short sharp ban, but the little shit wouldn't give one second's thought to banning France. You can imagine the Gallic hullabaloo.

I think governments should issue a warning to Blatter - unless he gets his FIFA shithouse in order . . . . . . . . . .

On this issue FIFA is bang on the money IMO, politicians should keep their fingers out of football. FIFA have acted on this in the past, Greece were briefly suspended until the government backed down and Poland were threatened with expulsion a few years ago until they fell into line.
