FIFA/UEFA Investigations

The main thing here is where will the trail end. Platini was instrumental in FFP until he suddenly went cold..surprise surprise. But what about the ones who were pushing FFP to him?
Was going to post the same wonder if anyone was paying for the introduction of ffp

The rags had a huge part in changing the meaning of the ffp rules from targeting debt to targeting investment. Ask @Prestwich_Blue about them refinancing their PIK notes because they were worried our owners would take revenge on them.

Quite right must have been many parties and encouragements pertaining to the introduction of FFP. Depends on how much they want to dig. A clean sweep with broom and then the genuine sponsors will be reinvesting their shareholders cash again. Personally another way of electing these guys who have access to huge amounts of cash should be sorted out,and totally independent. Not those who rapidly rise through the ranks eg Gill who have maybe hidden agendas.

Below is a link to the Daily Mail piece by Martin Samuel on the ongoing Blatter / Platini debacle. Hopefully not crossing any copyright boundaries (all copyright to the DM), I direct you to the comments section on the article, specifically a comment by "teddosan" which I quote as follows:

"I've never understood why David Gill isn't talked about as a possible FIFA President. As a Man City fan, it pains me to see what an excellent job he did at Man United. He is clearly extremely well respected within football circles, as well as being well connected. He plainly has moral fibre, given his statements after Blatter was elected again recently, so could plausibly stand as the reform candidate. Surely he should be a shoo-in? Is it because he is English that he doesn't seem to be in the running? Because he is a threat to those with their noses still in the trough? Or does he just not want to do it? Do you have any insight on this Martin? It genuinely puzzles me".

Is this supreme irony?
Have I been royally Clarkied?
Is it a complete WUM mission that has whizzed over my head?

Apologies if I've crossed a copyright boundary, mods feel free to edit or remove.

Issa Hayatou taking over for now.......sure that fuckers been investigated in the past.

Being investigated by the IOC for taking bribes in the 90s for World Cup broadcasting rights and there's an allegation that he was paid $1.5m to vote for Qatar as well, although he's not under investigation for that one yet.

Blather getting his lawyers involved claiming his suspension is illegal according to the Beeb.

The house of cards is falling fast.
